    Election Issues

    Rant on if that's what blows your dress up. The first time I noticed this thread I voted in the poll for jobs being the issue that is close to my heart and wrote my little 2 cents worth. I don't feel like debating anything, so I left it at that and went back to the weightloss and band posts. Simple. No need for me to leave LBT just because there are rants and raves about off topic stuff. I pop in and out of the rants and raves any time I want. It's great to have that freedom.

  5. Wooo Hoooo ! I'm normal! I dropped out of the 160s to 159 today and it brings me to the "normal" BMI range at 24.9 ! :blushing:
  6. #1 Sit down and talk about it with your mom. If she tries to talk you out of it or thinks it is the easy way out, be patient with her and educate her. Her love and support will be very important just as it is with everything else. I speak as a mother and as a daughter......and as a bandster :blushing:
  7. I agree, it's not good to stay that tight. They can just remove a very tiny bit and I think you will do much better. I hope you can at least drink some protein shakes and easy stuff until you get a little unfill.
  8. It is cold and gloomy today. We have been getting cold rain and snow. yes, SNOW! :w00t: I have to change my name to grumpy dwarf today. :thumbup: I've been sewing today so at least it is keeping me busy. If I don't stay busy I will graze.

    Newly banded and learning, but need insite

    I have so much trouble with chicken and Pasta I don't even try to eat them anymore. Try some things like chili. Try canned chicken (by the tuna in the store). I sometimes add the canned chicken to Soups to increase the Protein.
  10. I used to "reward" myself with food. Now I can "reward" myself with clothes!

  12. I cancelled fill #3 because I was at my sweet spot (really on the tight side of the green zone) with fill #2.
  13. Someone may have asked this in another thread. I just can't find it. I am taking a quick weekend trip and want to take ready to drink protein shakes and a couple protein bullets, but I don't want to check a bag. I have to leave my house at 4am. 2/12/10. Flight leaves at 6. I was reading the liquid rules on the TSA site and it says people with medical conditions can have "liquid nutrition" that is greater than 3 oz. Do you think I can get through security with the protein drinks if I have my lapband journey card that has my name and info about being banded with me?
  14. I have lost over 100 lbs. PS is not "required". I do have much extra skin on my arms, but may just live with it because the scars from that PS tend to look just as bad as the saggy skin.
  15. I do try to stay out of the man cave because there are so few guys here and they need a place to get away from all these crazy females, but I pretty much post wherever I want.

    How do you spit up?

    "spitting up" is not normal and you should not be trying to learn how to spit up properly or quietly. You should learn how to avoid these situations. In my case it would be taking one or more bites too many that would cause this. Slow down when you eat and learn what your soft signs are.
  18. So, since I was banded in July 2009 I can not reply to questions in the pre-op threads?
  19. The guideline I was given is the shake/drink has to be below 150 calories and have at least 15g protein. Carnation inst. breakfast does not fall into these guidelines.

    That is great! I think 4cc is a large amount to put in at surgery, but there must be some way they figure out how much to put in. I think mine was 2.7cc. If you start getting way too hungry between meals you should just call and move your appointment up. It sounds like you are well on your way!

    It could be the difference in location when you are sitting or standing up vs laying down. The way the scar and port line up is very different when you are in different positions.
  22. Morbid Obesity has many more risks than lapband surgery.
  23. I don't count grams of anything, but I have found that eating a vitafusion fiber gummy every day helps me.
  24. Sometimes they count how much the tubing holds as well. Shortly after I had my surgery I was trying to get a card from the lapband people and they needed to know what size band I had. I called the surgeon's office and they told me 12cc AP Standard lapband. I called the lapband people back to get the onfo on my card and they told me they only make 10cc & 14cc. After that I figured out they counted what the max fill level would be and the tubing from the port to the band holds 1-2cc.

    I need some support

    Throwing up often is not good at all. Evaluate what is going on with that. Did you eat something your stomach just can't tolerate? Did you forget to chew? ........ As for getting back on track, get out all the information they gave you pre-op and read it again. Start over. Maybe even do a day of clear liquid, a day of creamy liquid, a day of mushies ........ Find some new sort of exercise ....... Just start over in general and see if that helps.
