Need a good lie for nosy people

Your chiropractor is one person you really need to tell so he can use proper care when doing adjustments.

    Pre-op tests?

It is different with every surgeon and insurance company. I had none. Zero. No pre-op tests at all.

    Band and metal detector!

Some cell phones set off the security alarms in stores. I guess one way to tell is to walk through naked

What my Dr. trying to hide?

DRP, I do not have that band. I was banded in Denver with a 10cc AP Lapband. It only took me 2 fills with the one I have to reach my sweet spot and I think I've had great success. No matter which band you have eveyone's results will differ.

    Constipation

After you get this constipation problem solved with stronger stuff start eating 1 or 2 fiber gummies every day. It has been a life saver for me. I use the vitafusion brand from Target. They are very easy to chew up , sugar free and taste great. You may need to use a suppository to get things to soften up from that end.

Wow, it is easier to find advise on how to bed a hottie on this site than it is to find out how to use the site in general.

    somebody please...help

Chances are your insurance may be good for 30 days. It is worth checking.
  11. Too funny..... I just had a visual of you moon walking! Hey, whatever it takes! The 100 pounds I lost in the first year includes the 8 pounds pre-op. Every single pound counts!
  12. double post...........................love the changes! NOT!
  13. Goodmorning threadsters (or those of you who bother with LBT anymore), Well, the new year is almost here. I am trying to stay positive, but have many changes on the way for 2011. I guess I should at least be happy that major weightloss is not at the top of my list for the new year like it has been for every other year. Taxes are going to kill me this year. I have been working 3 part-time jobs and 2 of them have not taken out enough for taxes. I don't have surgery costs to claim this year and no dependants. I dread what the numbers will be when we figure out taxes this year. My main job is going away. The Dr. is going to retire and close the office. I have been there 11 years and am so sad. I don't like change like this. The office is my comfort zone. I had a very hard time sleeping last night because it was on my mind. This job is my largest income. The Dr., his assistant, and all the patients are like family to me. I think I'm already starting to mourn. I'm a year older too, damn it. So much for trying to stay positive. I just needed to whine a little. What does the new year hold for all of you??
  14. tika, It really sounds to me like your fills and unfills are in too large amounts. You go from not tight enough to so tight you vomit, then way back to not tight enough. When you start getting close to the green zone or sweet spot the fills/unfills should be very small, like .5 cc or .25cc. Of course take small bites and chew well, but it really sounds like you are ending up far to one side or the other of your sweet spot.

    The measuring question

Over the past 18 months I have learned to look at these things more as "guidelines" and not hard "rules". For example, I can eat more than 1/2 cup of Soup, but the solids in the soup are about 1/2 cup. The liquids tend to go through and the solids stay in the pouch. I listen very close to my full signal. I don't measure anything. After awhile you learn to eyeball the amount of food you put on your plate. Many bandsters feel so much better with measuring, tracking, and counting everything. I just can't live that way. I can't let my life revolve around my band or around my diet. That just is not the way it works best for me. You have to use the guidelines, get proper restriction and find the way it works best for you in your life. It just may be that measuring and counting is the best for your own journey. My way has worked great for me, but may not work well at all for someone else. Your Dr.'s rules may work best in his/her mind, but not for the rest of your life. If my Dr. had a hard rule about not skipping Breakfast, I simply could not follow that rule.

    Boobies question

For me, the boobs are the first thing to go. I had big saggy boobs, and now with 108 pounds lost, I have smaller saggy boobs. I went from a 42DD to a 36 C+. The + (plus) is because I'm smaller than a D, but buldge out of the Cs. The nice thing is that the ribcage area and waist get smaller, so the smaller boobs are ok.
  18. For some, like me, the post-op fatigue lasts for months. I think most bandsters start getting their energy back in a week or two. You learn to pace yourself. Congrats to all the newly banded and I wish you the best in your weightloss journey.

To or Not To do Pre-Op Diet

My pre-op diet was 2 weeks of Atkins diet. Lowering the carbs shrinks the liver and is much easier than liquid diets.

whats your favorite Christmas(or holiday) song?

This has been around for awhile , but worth listening to again. Martina put in with an old Elvis video. I love how they make it look like he is flirting with her. Merry Christmas to all. Almost 2 Years, No Weight Loss

What size is your band? If it is a 10cc, I doubt you have 7cc in it. Are you sure there is 7ccs? Did they take out all the Fluid when you had your last fill? I have heard of bandsters who think they have a lot of fill and somehow the port was missed or the tube has a leak. The reason I think you may not have that much is because I have a 10cc band with 5.3cc of fill. I can not eat much at all and do not exercise. I do not track calories or anything else. 100 pounds dropped off in the first year. Restriction has been key for me. I really think you need to go have them check to see just how much fluid you have in your band. If you have a 14cc maybe you need another fill. Maybe a 14cc was too large for you?
