    Restriction..????

The feeling of fullness is very different post band, but after time I have forgotten what it used to feel like. The new way of feeling full is now "normal" to me. I hope that makes sense. I don't like the word restriction much because it can have different meanings. I like "green zone" or "sweet spot" much better. I reached my sweet spot very early in the process and it has helped me feel full or satisfied on toddler size meals. Now that I say it, I don't like the word "meal" very much either.

    Lbt Page Problems???

I am having the same problem. I can't read the last few posts in a thread and I can't make a post either. I'm having a few other problems with it too.

    Success Rate?

I agree with B-52 on this one. I think the key to my success was reaching the green zone early in the process. I put in very little effort, so I give the band and being properly adjusted most of the credit. I'm not sure where they get the success rate figures. They are not following every banded person. They don't include me in the rates. My % of weightloss has not been tracked by anyone but me at this point. When we reach the normal BMI weight range (25) it is 100% of excess weight gone. I am sitting at a BMI of 24, so I have lost more than 100% of my excess weight. Wooo Hooo!

    Self Sabotage

A tall skinny latte at starbucks is only 90 cal oops, just looked it up, now they say 100 calories.....10g Protein
  8. It all sounds pretty normal to me. I would agree that you need to take it slower when you have your next fill. You may need a couple more before you hit the green zone, but better safe than sorry on the next ones. I reached my green zone on fill number 2, so I'm glad I stuck to the liquids only rule for the day of that fill . I take it very slow and easy after any fill now .... lessons will be learned along the way.

    Lean Cuisines???

I have found that most of these types of meals have either pasta or rice and I really can't eat either one.

    Band Removal While Pg?

I wouldn't want to risk the baby's life or health with general anesthesia or even the other meds related to surgery. Have you taken a pg test?
  11. OMG! I love this post! Thanks for popping back in. I am pretty much at the same place and loving it as well. Yay! So happy for you!

    Benefiber, Is It Possible..

I try to stay away from any sort of fiber that will swell. Back in 2009 someone here at LBT told me about vitafusion brand gummies (Target) and I have been using them ever since. I swear by the brand because the gummies don't get hard like other gummie style vits. I've tried. They are very easy to chew, melt in your mouth, and taste great. The dose is 2 gummies, but I do fine taking one every day.
  13. Thank you. No, I don't have much discipline in my diet like you might think. I don't diet. I don't count calories or track anything. I have just learned how to use my band properly and try to keep in mind some basics.
  14. That's great news! I hope things only get better for you. You are well on your way! I hope you can soon look back on this as just a little bump in your road to skinnyville!

    Alcohol After The Lap Band

I didn't drink any alcohol for the first 6 months after being banded. When I did drink those first couple times I did get drunk very fast on a very small amount. Now I drink wine or a margarita now and then. I still do feel it faster and on small amounts, but not as much as I did in the weightloss phase. Any type of carbonation causes discomfort for me.
  16. I would agree with what everyone else said. I drove to another town past several lapband surgeons to go to the one I chose. During my consult I learned that my surgeon had been doing weightloss surgeries for many many years. Lapband was the only surgery he would do anymore. The others were all too drastic and he already had many patients with lapband success. I know there are some patients that have conditions that are contraindicated for the band, but that doesn't sound like what is going on with you. It would be worth going for a consult with someone else.
  17. No, I'm not saying exercise isn't benificial. Yes it is optional. A person can choose to do it or not just like many other things in life. I did breeze through over 100 pounds of weightloss with the help of lapband. Your lecture in your first post is what bothered me. Like ..... who does that chick think she is lecturing people like that talking about people's excuses and such. It really shouldn't be your concern if someone else doesn't exercise or makes excuses. If you want to do it your way that's cool. It should not be your concern how I lost my weight. The last few times I spoke with my surgeon he is thrilled with my results. I am thrilled with my results. There is nothing "sad" about my success.

What Does An Ulcer Vs A Slip Feel Like?

The night coughing is a sure sign of being too tight. All the other stuff may also be a sign of being too tight as well. I really think you need to get back to see your lapband doc ASAP. Maybe all you need is a very tiny unfill and all will be well. I sure hope that's all it is. I would just stay on liquids and mushies for the weekend and get back to your doc .... tell them what is going on and that you need to be seen right away.
  21. I lucked out and don't have much ....flat stomach .... I would guess the worst area is my arms. FYI, exercise does nothing for loose skin. Of course the loose skin may look a bit better as it sags over harder muscles. We will all be different when it comes to loose skin. It depends on age, how many times pregnant, where we carry the weight, sun exposure, how much excess weight we have ....... In my case, I carried my excess weight all over. I am 47 years old and have quite a few years of excess sun exposure. I was only pregnant one time in my life and only gained 19 pounds. I now weigh about 2 pounds less than I did the day I delivered my son (who is 5 years older than you). I feel great with my results. At my age now, I would look too thin if I lost any more weight. A BMI of 24 is a good place for me. I don't need any plastic surgery.
  22. I'm not sure the lecture is very helpful. I have not exercised and dropped the weight at a rapid rate with the band ..... no excuses either.

    What Is Your Signal?

My full signal has changed over the last 2 1/2 years. I have myself trained well at this point. For the first few months it was left shoulder pain/discomfort for my full signal. If I wait for the hiccup, I've gone too far. Sometimes I'll get a bit of a runny nose feeling and if I take a bite too much I'll have a sneezing fit like a seasonal allergy thing. Most of the time now I simply lose interest in the food and that is my signal to just stop.
