hey everyone! I have my date on october 20tb!

OMG LOL We had our pre-op meeting yesterday, I'm tiring to find you on here and for the life of me cant! LOL i wish that we could have talked more or grabbed lunch but with the kids and hubs ( it was potty time) Anyway i hope to become good friends with you and go through this with you! i was denied then approved! i go for my pre-op tomorrow!!! So how is your eating right now? what did you eat right before surgery? Karen

i got approved by the 200% too! tricare requires you to be 200% ( or 100 pounds) over your ideal body weight. so for me my ideal weight on the met life chart is like 127 to 144. right now i weight 264 so I'm over the 200%. or you have to be 100 pounds over your ideal weight with a co-morbitiy. if you need anymore info let me know but you can always go to tricare.com here is a good link TriWest Healthcare Alliance it should work let me know if it does not work but this well give you the info you need Karen

i would like to say something about your back. when you gain allot of weight your back has to carry that around, so when you loose weight your back will start to hurt because it does not have so much to carry and does not know what to do! i found this out going to my chiropractor. he told me about this and i was shocked! so a Brest reduction will help but remember to take care of your back too. and i have to tell you the yest problem will NOT go away with a reduction. i had the same thing. and yes it did help out allot but i still have problems! my doc told me that a reduction could help but may not clear it up. just wanted to let you know. omg lol! i just wrote you this long story and now its gone! thanks to the net lol! anyway yes you will heal it will just take time and yes i felt everything you are feeling right now! it does get better with time. i could not even pick up my baby ( she was like 1 then) because it hurt soooo much and when she would hit them ( not knowing why i hurt because she was too young and just wanted to play) so yes things will heal and also if you feel like something is wrong then go back to the doc and dont leave tell he answers all your Qs. thats what he gets paid to do!!! best of luck! karen

i know what you are going through! tricare did not even send my surgeon the denial letter so they had know idea why i did not get it! So they also did not even factor in that im 200% over my body weight! errrr. here is how you get it if you want to know so you can put it in your apeal. you geton the metlife webpage (metropolitalan life charts) find your ideal body frame and weight. then on the low and high end of your ideal body weight add 100 pounds to that. if your over then you make it or should. in my case im 264 so my ideal low body weight is like 127 so i add 100 that is 227 umm yeah im over! then i take the high end and add 100 so 144 pluse 100 is 244 umm yeah! so do that too also i even found it on the tricare web page that states " tricare must add 200% (or 100 pounds the the hight and low ends of ideal body weight) here is the link its long TriWest Healthcare Alliance... let me know if this does not work and i can try to cut and past to your email or something. i know how hard this is for you and me so best of luck and i know we will both get this we just have to fight harder. sucks but what more can you do. also i found alot of help on here for apeals and what to write and add in also look on the web there is allot of stuff too. again keep me updated! karen

omg! tricare is a pain! I was denied too. my letter said it was because i had no co-morbidity's! but I'm 200% over my body weight.. so i do qualify. you only have to meet one of the 3 requirements! anyway i had to go back to my surgeon and be re evaluated and have the paper work resubmitted to tricare. so lets hope this one goes thru if not i have my appeal letter ready! they just want to write a letter about how your weight is affecting your every day life. they already have your medical records sent in by the surgeon so its just a personal one from your side. hey i had to go back in to the do because i found out that they put my hight and weight in wrong so everything has to be re-summited to tricare. so ill know in a few days or so. i have my appeal letter ready just in case. i do have a face book and a my space but cant remember my link. ill go back and look for it and give it to you but for now try putting my name in Karen myers and i live in fort huachuca AZ that should help. how have you been Karen

the doc you picked out should get a copy of your referral but its also a good idea to fax or bring in a copy to them. in my case i had to wait for my docs office to get their copy then they called my for an apt! so dont worry just call them again and see if they got anything for you et. karen

so how did that work? did you do like monthly payments so something like that if so how much did you pay a month for it????

i hope all goes well with you! I'm sure you'll heal up great!!! yeah so tricare did not approve my lap band but I'm going to appeal it! I'm so pissed off at them though cuz i meet the requirements so i don't know what happened!! when i called they said that there was nothing telling them why i was not approved???!!! yeah and nether did my docs office! so someone or somewhere things got messed up but ether way i have to appeal! sucks but the docs office said that they will help me soooo I'm just going to hope for the best. i cried most of the day.... feeling sorry for myself... but now i just have to hope. i hope its before Christmas that i get this done. bla!!!!! anyway best to you Karen

do you think you could help me out? i just found out today that i was denied! i have no clue why. i meet everything needed for tricare to approve me!!!! when i called them they said it could be because they do not have enuff info! BLA BLA! anyway i called my doctor and the surgeon who will do the lapband to help me appeal this. my quistion for you is.. did you have to wait the whole 90 days to hear something? and do you mind if i look at your letters that you wrote. may help me out. thanks so much. i really want to fight this so anything will help! thanks karen
