    Gall Stones

hey there... i was banded on 10/14/09 and just had to have my gallbladder out last week b/c of multiple mobil gallstones. surgery was similar to lap-band but you can eat normal right after you leave the hospital and no pre-op diet. just the normal nothing after nid-night. good luck to you erin...the surgery was easy.

    Gallbladder shenanigans

well...i just replied to this post a few days ago and since have learned that I hav multipe mobile gallstones and have to have surgery on Tuesday. Bloody heck I didn't want another surgery...oh well I guess it could be worse.
  4. well...let me just jump on this frustration bandwagon with you guys. I was banded on 10/14/09 and have lost 37 pounds. I work out like crazy..as a matter of fact I just finished a month of "boot camp" and only lost three pounds. I am so close to getting under the 200 mark I can taste it..but week after week nothing. I have 6.2 cc's in a 10 cc band and am thinking I will get another fill next week. It is hard when we see everyone around us being banded at the same time losing 60-100 pounds. i could really use an e-mail support buddy in the same boat if anyone is interested. we could help one another and share info.... hang in there guys!

    Gallbladder shenanigans

I was getting on the site today to do a search on your very subject. I am going in for an ultrasound in the morning b/c my PCP thinks I probably need my gallbladder out. I was banded 10/14/09 and have only lost about 40 pounds which is not suddden weight loss....a very slow frustrating weight loss if you ask me! Was wondering about the side effects about having it removed. Glad surgery went well..take care.
  6. I have been banded for 6 months and have had CONSTANT nausea for about 5 or 6 days. Besides right after surgery...has anyone dealt with this??? I called the doctor and they are going to call me back. It has been about 6 weeks since my last fill...so I doubt that has anything to do with it.

    Anyone struggle with nausea?

Thanks a bunch Sue. All of my tests came back this morning and he said everything was in normal ranges. He thinks that I am having some acid issues in my stomach...something he said he sees alot with banded patients. He called in a RX for stomach acid. I dont have reflux or heartburn or anything...weird. Thanks for the thoughts..

    Anyone struggle with nausea?

Thanks for the reply...I am going on day 6 now and no resolve. I am getting to the point where I can hardly eat. I went to my pcp today and he ran some tests for my liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. I called my surgeons office...they are three hours away and they suggested that it was gas....as if. Anyway...I was hoping maybe someone else had some experience in this area.

    6 months progress

Hey! I am about to hit my 6 month mark on the 14th. I was banded on 10/14/09. Started at 240 and am now and 208...my goal weight is about 150-160. I am at 32 pounds lost right now...very slow and frustrating..especially when I compare myself with others. Moral of the story.....try not to compare and beat yourself up over it. I am doing what I need to do and living life. As someone said before...this is not one of our previously failed diets...this is for real a lifestyle change. Hang in there and good luck!!!

    Anyone banded around 10-14-09?

Wow..all of you are doing so great! I was banded on 10/14 and have lost only 30 pounds to date! I have 6.2 cc's in a 10 cc band and am feeling restriction now for the first time. Love my band...just wish sometimes the weight would come off faster. But, I didn't gain it overnight so I guess I will not lose it overnight either!
  11. I cannot fully answer your question beacsue I am the same boat as you...excpet I can eat a little more than you can. I just had my 4th fill and am 6.2 cc's I get that feeling when I take too big of a bite or eat too fast. I have also felt that when I am eating something that shouldn't like some types of bread...so now I leave it alone.
  12. Yesterday afternoon I got my 4th fill and have had nausea ever since. I have never had this before, and this fill was even a small one. Have any of you experienced this? 1st fill- 4 cc's 2nd fill-1 cc 3rd fill- .8 cc's 4th fill- .4 cc's Bringing me to a total 6.2 in a 10 cc Lap-Band
  13. I was banded on 10/14 and am wondering how do you know if your port has flipped? Lately, when I sit down I feel like something is "digging" into my lower right rib cage. It is more annoying than painful. Also, I get cramps frequently a few inches in from my hip bone. I have had 3 fills for a toal of 5.8 in my 10cc band. Anyone else????
  14. I wasn't offended in the least bit...I actually found it to be VERY funny! It is what it is...

    how many CCs?

Hey! I have a 10 cc band and was banded on 10/14. My first fill was 4 ccs then 1 cc then .8 bringing me to a total of 5.8 I am just now starting to feel like I even have a band... I am getting another fill on the 18th.
  16. okiegirl79

    Anyone never gotten stuck?

banded 10/14/09 and have 5.8 in my 10cc band never been stuck.... however, sometimes if i eat too fast i get some pressure/pain in my chest and it lasts a few seconds
  17. You guys seem to be all doing so well! I was banded 10/14 and am only down 26 pounds. I have 5.8 cc's in my 10 cc band and am getting another fill next week.

    What do you eat?

Wow..that doesn't seem like very much at all! My friend has 7.5 ccs in her 10 cc band and is now at her sweet spot. I guess that goes to show you how everyone really is different with their restriction levels. However, I want to get to the point if restriction..that is the point of having the band. If I could have done it all by myself I would not have gotten the band in the first place.

    What do you eat?

I was banded three months ago and I think this is the norm called so lovingly as "Bandster Hell" I have had three fills bringing me to 5.8 ccs in a 10 cc band and am just now getting some sort of restriction. Everyone is different and it come may much sooner but be mentally prepared that it may take a while. Hang in there! It's tough!

    What do you eat?

I drink a protein shake every morning per doctors orders. She does say, however, to not drink anymore- to get the protein from food. I guess every doctor is different...

    What do you eat?

I was banded about the same time as you it seems...for me 10/14/09 I am like you...I am ssssoooo hungry around 5:00 I cannot control myself. I went in for my third fill last week and she said it should help...well guess what??? still a problem this time of day. I have 5.8 ccs in my 10cc band... Here is what I am eating...maybe we can help each othere out!!! I do drink at least 64 ounces of water and I get my protein goal met. Breakfast: Protein shake Lunch: something like chili...beef stew...meat/veggies snack: sting cheese (i usually end up eating two of them) dinner: things like meatloaf-chili-lean meats grilled-pot roast-and veggies
  22. I have been there... Have you tried going online to the local spots and check out their nutrition data? That is how I choose when I forget lunch. To help with tha I purchased some of the Hormel Compleats meals they have around 20 grams of protein and 210 calories. They do have some carbs...but it is better than hitting the drive thru. You can get them at Wal-Mart in the soup aisle for $1.98 each.

    Banded in october--updates please

I would too..a friend of mine had surgery a month before me and had lost almost double what I have. I guess it is different for everbody and I try to keep in mind I want to lose it slow and easy...it's way better in teh long run. It is especially hard this time of year with all of the "treats" around the office and a house full of boys that love to eat....a lot. I have a 10 cc band and have had 3 fills. My first fill was 4ccs and my second only one. I only fell a little difference and it is hard b/c I can still eat WWAAAYYYY more than 3/4 cup of food!

    Banded in october--updates please

Fire & Spice, I wouldn't get too worried about it..I have heard from several people that they did not begin losing weight and even gained weight until they started getting restriction. Do you know what size of band you have? That will make a big difference. I think the smaller Realize band is 11 cc's if I am not mistaken, so it may take a little more than those of us with a 10 cc Lap Band. The good news is you have not gained any weight..just keep your head up and make sure you get your water-protein-and excercise in (I need to do better at all three of those!) I bet your next fill will really give you a boost!
