Hello Everyone,  I am a mother of 4 beautiful children and married to a great guy for the last 20 years.  My life was great but my weight began to take a toll on my body.  I realized that my life could be a whole lot better if I was healthy.  So, I started my quest for serious weight loss in 2007 after my husband's cancer diagnosis.   I lost 12 lbs but with the stress of my husband's illness and family life, I gained all of it back and then some.  Then, I consulted with my doctor and together we tried a few different approaches but to no avail.  I realized that I was my own enemy and had developed some bad habits over the years that had been really hard to break.  After years of denying that weight loss surgery was an option, I decided it was time to consider it.  My health was deteriorating and I wanted to be here for my family.  I deserve it and so do they.  So, in 2008 I went for a consultation and then the doctor visit.  With many hoops to jump through for my Insurance company, I finally got my approval in June 2009.  My surgery was on July 13, 2009  and I have not had any regrets since.  I love that I have control now.  I still have those "bad" cravings but I approach them in a more sensible, healthy manner.  If I want pizza, I make a healthier version with no guilt!  If you are reading this and not sure if Lap-Band or any weight loss surgery is for you, keep an open mind and consider where you want to be in your future.  God Bless.
