  1. There may not be any apps out there like the kind I'm looking for but I have been looking for an app that helps you plan daily or weekly meal plans. Or something to that liking. I have found an app that helps you choose better food choices with healthier ingredients... Iphone-Shop to Lose. Does anyone know of any apps (or even websites) out there that may be similar to this?
  2. I was banded June 28th and am looking forward to my 1st fill on Aug 13th. I have been thru several of the threads on here looking for advice and/or information that might help me know what to expect. It would be nice to hear from other bandsters out there about their 1st fill experience! Thanks!

    3 months out

Congratulations on your success! I love to hear the amazing stories like these, they make me feel like I can do it to. I am 2 weeks post op. Just got banded on June 28th. If you don't mind would you mind sharing some of your diet and exercise tips you have used to achieve your success? I'm always trying to find new ideas of how to get the most use out of my band. Thanks.
  4. Hello, I was just banded on Monday, June 28 and I want to make sure I am getting enough protein within my liquid diet. My appointment with nutritrienist isn't for a few more days so hopefully ya'll could help me out....confused:confused: Thanks.
  5. Hello I was reading some earlier posts about restriction and the feeling they were having after a fill. I am a newbie and was recently banded on June 28th. I guess my question is when you do receive a fill(s) how do you know your getting that restriction feeling? What does it feel like? And another thing that interest me is I've heard on here the dreaded "stuck" feeling you may get after eating. How do you know when that is happening? What does that feel like? Because that sounds awful! Thanks for any answers you can give me that can help me succeed in the future. Knowing something about the coming events will definitely help! jennykay:smile:
  6. Hello I was banded on Monday, June 28 and I decided to weight myself today. I have not been hungry and have been trying to make sure I get my liquids in. I felt like I had lost a few pounds so my husband went and bought our first scale EVER. And to my surprise I've lost 5 lbs. I'm so excited. I would love to hear some success stories from others this early in the process! Thanks.:tt1:

    Confused about Post-op

sphipps~I'm sorry you got treated that way there was no need for that. Our dr office is suppose to be there for us. I had a similar experience the other day at my md's office. I was banded on Mon the 28 th as well and I am so confused on what I can and cannot eat during this liquid 2 weeks post of period. ???? I mean I have info overload so now I'm just completely confused and the nurse at my dr.s office was short and sassy with her answer. (which I didn't appreciate) I called them b/c I needed clarification on my post op diet but she spoke to me like "duh" don't you know. I don't want to ruin all this hard work with something I'm not suppose to eat/drink so if you or anyone else on this thread could suggest some foods/beverages for liquid phase of diet I would be so greatful for the advice.....Good luck with your weight loss!

  15. Today was my surgery day. I am a little fuzzy headed still from anesth but I completely forgot to ask my doctor something. I do know what my post op diet is, but completely have forgotten if I can start it today...right now??? I would like to have a high-protien slim fast...would that be okay to have just being 6 hours post op? Is there anyone out there who could help me? Also, does anyone have any great post op meal/recipes for the first 2 wks post op? Thanks for any help in advance!
  16. yes he gave me a list of what I could eat post of 2 weeks and then post op 3-6 weeks. I just wasn''t sure if I started it today, the day of surgery. It does have yogurt and jello but I was craving if you would call it that, something to drink, but I thought a slim fast drink would be okay because it had the protein but I completely forgot it wasn't clear liquids. CRAP! Is this going to mess up my band????????
  17. My surgery is tomorrow and now that it is here I am finding myself much more nervous. I know this is normal but I want to be really prepared for what's going to happen post-op. Any suggestions from those who have had surgery and have gone thru the experience, and is willing to give some good advice??? Thanks in advance!:scared2:

  20. Will there be a lot of water/fluid weight after surgery? If so, how long should it be before that starts to go away? How difficult is the all liquid post-op diet? Any suggestions are what others used to help them thru the all liquid diet that help satisfy their hunger? How soon should I see some difference in my weight? I'm not trying to be impatient I am just VERY excited. It's time for a new start and I am ready!!! Thanks for any advice you can give to a newbie!

  25. Hi, I am a new member to the site and would like to see if anyone can help me out on some questions I have. I have considered having wls for over 2 years now and have finally made up my mind to do it! I went to the seminar to start that the surgeon requires. I know I was told there would be some pre-qualifications my insurance would require before approving the surgery. The insurance dept at the drs office sent me the paperwork saying I had to have 5 years of weight history with my bmi over 40 or my bmi greater than 35 w/co-morbidities. My situation is that my bmi has only been over 40 for 2 years and greater than 35 with NO co-morbidities for the first 10 years. Is there anyone out there who was/is in this kind of situation? And also with BCBS TRS activecare thru the school district, is there anyway to get around these "pre-qualifications? Thanks for any help you can provide.
