Okay, so I had my surgery July 16th, and up until my first fill I was excited. I went in for my first fill August 13th...I discussed with the nurse everything I was feeling and experiencing. I started with 3cc in my band on surgery day. She added 2cc. I sat up, drank some Water and it sat there and would not go down. So she not only took out the 2cc she had just added, she also took out an additional 1/2cc. So I feel like I have just gone backward...( I'm scheduled to go back in 2 weeks, but now I'm scared. What if this is all for nothing???? Has this happened to ANYONE else? The FIRST fill???? ugh

Hello! I am new to this forum and have no idea how to navigate. I'm not even sure I'll be able to find this thread once I exit. ugh... I had my surgery July 16th and would LOVE to find others who had their surgery around the same date. It would be great to know if what I am experiencing is normal. Does anyone know how I can find this? I'm going in for my first fill in two days. I was really excited at first, but now I'm nervous. Here's why...I was feeling great until I had a little fight with a piece of bread. Learned my lesson, yes, but every since then I've been sore again. Even eating cottage cheese, I can feel it go through the band. My concern is this...isn't the upper pouch supposed to fill up, make you feel full, and make you stop eating? So how is it that it hurts when things go through? Will it hurt even worse after a fil?? I'm so concerned. Of course I will talk to my surgeon about this, but in the mean time, looking to ease my nerves. Someone help??

Anyone told that their employer opted out of coverage?

Yes, the same thing happened to me. I'm so so sorry, but yes, you ARE screwed. There's nobody to fight since the insurance co. does cover the procedure. My husband's company chose it as an exclusion...doesn't seem right, I know. I ended up being a self pay. It's going to be well worth it though, you can't put a price on your life. -
Anyone not lose all their pre-op weight???

My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and I'm SO nervous I wont be down the 10 lbs my surgeon wants me down. I have stuck to the diet as perscribed, and the lbs dropped at first, and now the scale wont move. I have 4 lbs left to go and I'm scared I'm not going to get my surgery tomorrow!
