If the nurses wheeling me in ask why I'm giggling, what do I say????:w00t: Because I'm probably going to be thinking of this thread about then.

Believe me... when you've had kids, this is a walk in the park! I was awake when I was spread eagle for the kids. At least I'll be asleep this time! OMG! I am sitting here laughing. And I needed a laugh. I'm going through the "What the hell am I about to do!" phase!

Hey Bandits. I have my pre-op today at 10:30. Did it make you feel better or more nervous? My surgery is 2 weeks from tomorrow. I'm suppose to see a dietician during the pre-op also. I'm happy about that, as I need direction on protein shakes that a diabetic can drink. Any recommendations from other diabetics out there?

OK... now that's funny!

bdbmamaw replied to tripletmomma2000's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

What a guy! And what a great boss! My hubby has to work the next day, so my daughter (a nurse) will be babysitting me. Hubby feels so much better about having to work now. He's only 5 mins away, but he did not want me being alone. Thanks for the update. I'll keep peeking in to see how you are doing.

My big day is the 25th, and I know exactly how you feel. One day I'm fine, the next I'm a nervous wreck! I just want you (and everyone else) to know that I am thinking of you and praying for a speedy recovery. I just love popping my head in here! Everyone is such an encouragement to me. I have a feeling that's why you are here too. This place is a great support group! So hang in there and know that what you're going through is what everyone else has, or is, going through too. That seems to help me. BTW: Today is my "what the hell am I doing!" day.

August BANDits weekly weigh-in
bdbmamaw replied to formerfatchick's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey KayVee - I love your 'August BANDits' sparklee in your signature. Can we all add it to ours? It would definitely make us stand out. bdbmamaw -
Hi fellow-bandsters! My name is Brenda and I live just southeast of Houston, TX. I am a young 51, have 4 grown children (2 boys, 2 girls) and my 10th grandbaby is due in January. I have 5 yorkies to replace the kids. So, you ask... how can I be overweight with that much energy in the house. Well, I get tired just watching these little dogs..lol! Actually my thyroid no longer works and I have just been diagnosed with dibetes. My surgery date is Aug 25th!!! Scared and excited at the same time. Have the most wonderful husband and family. My two daughters are nurses and are very supportive. My doctor is Dr. Wilkenfeld, and he and his staff are great! Have my Pre-Op on the 10th and start my Pre-Op diet then. He just wants me to replace 1 meal and 1 snack with a Protein shake and eat high protein, low-fat for the other two meals. That shouldn't be too tough. I am 5'7" and weigh a little under 230. So I just barely made it under the radar. But I certainly don't want to wait till it gets even worse. My PCP, OB-Gyn, Urologist and Cardiologist all think this is the right thing for me, as traditional diets don't work. Especially with the on-set of diabetes. I work in the Oil and Gas industry. I am a Process Control Specialist and absolutely love my work. I have to travel periodically to go out 'in the field', so I really need to lose the weight. Sometimes I have to go out in the units and crawl through pipes and behind control cabinets, etc. I am hoping this 'tool' will be the answer to my weight problem. Anyway... sorry about droning on and on. I am really looking forward to this new life's journey with everyone.

Dr. Richard Wilkenfeld - Just a little hello
bdbmamaw replied to kelliemurray's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi, Kellie. I have just gotten my approval and am in the process of setting up my appt with Dr. Wilkenfeld. How has your experience been with him? From what I've seen so far, I think I'll like him.
