i too just had my first throw up and just 3 weeks after surgery. I thought I would be afraid of throwing up as I hate that feeling but like bioteacher, the pain was so unbearable in my chest that I would have done anything to stop it. Thank goodness my sister was with me and able to walk with me as I waited for the inevitable. I was shocked by the amount of saliva but realize that is part of the blockage. I was blocked by tuna which I have been eatting every day for over a week but I guess I did not put enough mayo in it as I am really watching my calories. I am glad I had someone with me and realize the throwing up is not the horrible part-the chest pain is. Eatting meat is frustrating and I have decided to puree again for at least another week.
