Wow where do I begin ...after so many years of being overweight and countless diets, I heard about the LapBand and my doctor highly recommened it for me. Type 11 Diabetes, along with sleep apnea, and slight high blood pressure gave me the 'incentive' to follow my doctors advice to consider the surgery. I took a year to finally decide to go through with it, cold feet and all. My surgery is on Friday 17th , two days away. I am nervous and excited, have all of the liquids, foods and attitude alined and am ready to go!! Honestly I feel as though I am doing the very best thing for my health at my age . I am close to 65 and keep very active with water exercise, golf and walking...but would rather read, quilt & visit..therein lies the weight problem! After reading as much as I could find about the surgery I feel I am prepared to follow all of the guidelines for food choices & exercise...finding this website is the 'frosting on the cake' (oops will need to watch those food references in later postings!) and look forward to having a support group. Hold a good thought for my new journey!!!
