I am so thrilled to find this forum. I had my surgery on June 18th and have checked posts on this forum several times to help answer questions and ease concerns. You guys are such a supportive and helpful bunch of people!! I go in for my first fill on July 16th. My doctor does not put anything in the band when he does surgery so this is truly my first fill. I am excited to experience the difference. I thought something was wrong with me cause I was not filling satisfied with a half cup of food. After reading the posts on fills I now understand. Again, I am really pleased to have found this forum and thank you all for your informative posts.

Hi Kim, I was banded on 6/18 too. I had my first fill yesterday and have lost a total of 15 pounds. The fill went well. (My port is right in the middle of my stomache and for me it is easy to find it. After surgery my port area was so swollen it looked like a cone head was coming out of me.) I would love to be your support buddy too. My first fill was with 2 cc's. I had to stand up with the needle in my stomach and drink water to make sure that the fill wasn't too much. The surgeon actually backed off on the fill a bit to allow the water down easier. I was a bit scared of the process but it wasn't too bad. Praise God, only one needle stick for me.

Melissa, I had my surgery in the morning and was home by that afternoon. I was uncomfortable that day and the next but mainly from all of the gas and pressure. I work from home and was up the next day after surgery on the phone and computer for the better part of the day. Good luck with your surgery!! I am excited for you.
