The Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 in chocolate is awesome. 12 oz of Water mixed with 3 scoops gives you the following: Calories: 280 Total Fat: 1 gram Cholesterol: 15 mg Total Carbs: 7 grams Protein: 60 grams Calcium: 280 mgs Sodium: 300 mgs Potassium: 450 mg AND, it tastes great. I also have the strawberry but I have to lower the amount I put into it because it is very strong.

What is the Best tasting Protein Shake
Just-Ice replied to texasnewf's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is also my favorite. I also agree with the other comments. I have not tried the strawberry yet, gonna grab that this weekend. Curious, I cannot find the same brand in unflavored, what are you using? -
that struck a cord with me too.. THank you. I needed that kick in the pants today.

mushies master food list?
Just-Ice replied to thinkoflaura's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my nut actually recommended hummus. It's in my "manual" as an acceptable food -
My husband and I did the same thing when we were dating. I know you are time crunched, but how about joining the gym together? Maybe an evening walk together? We did both of these and wish we had stuck to them. Oh.. and congrats on both the weight loss and the engagement!

We're getting closer!! Everyone getting excited? I have a 10 day liquid diet that will start on January 3. Anyone else have that requirement? I'm tickled that I am not required on a CLEAR liquid diet, the regular liquid is bad enough. I've decided that I'm going to think of it as a per meal kind of thing instead of the whole 10 day thing. I figure if I break it down, it's a more attainable goal. Whoo-Hoo! This is so very exciting!

anyone have PCOS-polycystic ovarian syndrome?
Just-Ice replied to Just Banded's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Haven't been banded yet, but it IS possible to have children with PCOS. In fact, it's possible to have several. I have three daughters, 11, 10 and 7. -
I cheated and I'm scared now. :/

I'm very happy for you that you are receiving pm's, however that doesn't negate my opinion. Like it or not, everyone has one and is entitled to express that opinion. Interesting how you decided to call me out due to my opinion not matching yours. I also do not appreciate the smugness of your reply. This board is for support - and sometimes opinions will differ. Perhaps you should suggest that those of us who are "pre" surgery shouldn't be able to access the post surgery side because it sure seems like you have an issue wuth me having and voicing my opinion. -

So I have to be POST surgery to have an opinion? That's pretty darn short sided of a comment to make (twice). I don't recall there being ANY stipulations in place to be able to have an opinion. Thank goodness that's "all you have to say". Good day. -

actually that was my mistake, so please excuse me. I forgot a word which would have made it read: I knew I would PROBABLY get... again, my mistake. I didn't intend to mean you had flamed me. -

I totally understand that. However, I was pointing out that 2 days left is 2 days, not 14, not 10. I didn't intend to shake my finger at her, I did intend for her to examine the situation. And actually yes, I do believe it is a small indicator of what's to come. I knew I'd get flamed for that remark, but I do stand by it. -
my only question would be... "Do YOU want this?" .. if so, proceed. If you are still questioning, then by all means continue your research. If no, then you have your answer. :willy_nilly: Good luck to you in whatever YOU decide.

Actually, I would be worried. Not so much of what you ate, but that you couldn't hold out your last two days until mushies. Caving in this early, what does that say about how you'll do six months from now? A little of this.. a little of that? I don't intend for this to come across mean.. more of a wake up call. Stick to your program and you will be successful. I have faith in you :willy_nilly: -
I would highly recommend NOT cheating. It's only a few days of your life.. you'll live through it. Besides.. cheating is what got most of us in this place to begin with. It is my surgeons understanding that the liquid diet beforehand shrinks your liver to make it easier to get the band placed. Some surgeons will NOT do the surgery if they open you up and you have not followed their orders. I wouldn't want to risk the chance of not getting the surgery just because I couldn't follow instructions for such a short period of time.

I am so lost and overwhelmed!
Just-Ice replied to mom2cjpx4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You've been banded two days.. you shouldn't be picking up anything. As far as eating, do what your doctor recommends and consume something every hour. Did they mention adding Protein to what you do consume? that will keep you feeling fuller longer. -
I claim my husband's sleep apena is causing ME sleep apena!
-
Maybe he is doing what has always worked for him? Has he always "helped" you by bringing you food? Maybe he just needs a little education. My poor husband is trying his best and has broken down to just asking me what I want instead of trying to guess and making me mad at him.

I'm a little bummed, I tried week 1, day 1 today. I got all the way up to the point where he said "you are half way" and nearly passed out due to shock. Granted, I have NEVER run before and I'm carrying 246 lbs (and 46E's).. but I am excited that I TRIED it and I won't be giving up. Apparently it is going to take me more than the 12 weeks, but I'm good with that. I will have to take time for my surgery in January.. but I have a goal. I will get there. Thanks everyone for posting some much needed inspiration here. It's helping!!

Gaining weight to so insurance will pay for Lap Band
Just-Ice replied to mondk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
wow.. do you guys see what you are being brought into? The poster asked a question.. she didn't ask what YOUR opinion on her having the surgery was. sheesh. If you are really that upset about our healthcare system, then do something about it.. or shut up. I seriously hope you guys vote... cause if you don't, you have no right to open your mouth. If all you are going to do is sit on your butt at your computer and whine that she's ripping off the American people, take a gander at our government.. you think they are all honest hard working American citizens? Give me a break. -
Gaining weight to so insurance will pay for Lap Band
Just-Ice replied to mondk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Interesting double standard here. In THIS post, the original poster is acting foolish.. however in ANOTHER post.. that poster is being told what to do to accomplish more weight to qualify for surgery. Very odd indeed. I don't think it's right to have to gain weight to have surgery - MY PERSONAL OPINION, however, I'm not going to down you if you decide to do that. I know my first doctor told me to go eat and come back, personally that didn't sit right with me. Asking me to gain weight so he could do surgery sounded odd. I DID go in with every set of keys in my pockets, two cell phones, etc just trying to get my bmi to 40 instead of 38. Ok.. hopping off my soapbox now... NEXT! -
