    Better Late Than Never.

Hi again Jenny and Liz - thank you both for the helpful websites, they both look great! It really helps having people to "talk" to that understand. I hope you both keep in touch and I will try not to bug you but would love to hear how you both are doing, since you are one week ahead of me. You must both be so excited, so soon for you! Jenny, I was reading your blog, you are going through some stuff right now, huh?? Hang in there, you sound like a strong woman. Did you find a better shake than Slim Fast yet? I am still reading up on them, haven't decided what to buy yet. My pre-op is strictly liquid.

    Better Late Than Never.

Hi Liz! My insurance finally came back this morning with an approval also, my surgery is on the 10th. I am suddenly feeling very nervous and scared and doubting my decision, even though I know deep down its for the best. Obviously I can't do this on my own! I am going to check out Fitday.com right now, thanks for the tip!:crying: Lisa

    Aug 10th is surgery!

Hi everyone - I am also scheduled for Aug 10, just got my approval about an hour ago! I feel like I am getting cold feet, like am I doing the right thing, did I really try hard enough on my own, etc. Anyone else have these feelings? Even though I know its the right thing and am doing it for my health. On the shake issue, I am allowed to mix mine with non-fat milk for my week long pre-op diet, didn't start yet (next Monday)...Are you allowed anything besides the shakes? I can have cream soups, cream of wheat, sugar free jello/ice pops, etc.
  4. Hi everyone! I am scheduled for August 10th. Excited and nervous, especially about the liquid pre-diet, which I only have to do for ONE week, which seems short compared to what I see most people saying (2 or 3 weeks). Wondering what kind of protein drinks everyone is buying, I'm kind of dreading that part, heard alot of them are pretty gross. Any suggestions would be great! Is there anyone here going to Atlanticare in Atlantic CIty, Dr. O???
  5. Thanks for the feedback, not trying to be negative, sorry if I sound that way! My husband and mother are not very happy about me having this surgery. My BMI is 37, which is unhealthy (I'm on blood pressure medicine and my sugar is borderline diabetic) so I need to lose weight badly! I just have not done anything about it since my first child(7 years ago). I really feel that I need this extra help. Guess I'm just looking for some validation! I don't eat massive amounts of food, but I do pick all day and eat the WRONG things and don't exercise. I know I have alot of behavior modification to work on.
  6. Hi everyone, just wanted to get your thoughts. I am scheduled for Aug 10th (can't wait) but....I am getting some negative feedback from people with stories of friends who had the surgery and then didn't lose much, or gained alot back. I'm so scared to do this and then not have the results I am hoping for. Have you all heard good/bad things? Just venting and stressing
  7. Hi everyone! I am tentatively scheduled for August 10th! I completed all of my testing except for my nutrition/pschological appt which is next week. I have BCBS which my doctors office says is the easiest to get approved, so I'm very hopeful this will go as planned. I am going to Atlanticare in Atlantic City, Dr. Onophachenko. Anyone else going here? Best of luck to everyone....
