Hi... This is my first post on LapBandTalk. I sure hope that I'm doing this right. I hate to make silly mistakes. :tt1: Anyway, I have a question that I hope some of you can answer for me. I have been banded about 3 months now, and have had two fills. After surgery and after my first fill, I had no restriction and therefore I had no change in my appetite and everything went down just fine. After my second fill, I got stuck and had the accompanying foaming and pain a few times. I don't know whether I ate too much, or didn't chew well enough. (Anyway, I'm trying to be more careful.) My question is.... how do I know I'm full? Will I PB only with getting stuck, or also with eating too much? I appreciate any and all knowledge and experience you might want to share with me. Thank you !

Thank you for your reply. I think that I need to listen more closely to my body for that "whisper." Thank you for giving me that word. It really seems to fit what I need to be watching for. I'm sure that the episodes I've had are from getting stuck. I will continue to chew chew chew, and go slowly. I am trying to learn to eat mindfully. Blessings.......

Dr. Donald Yarbrough - Great at doing Fills
MrsMeep replied to Brandy~'s topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi Brandy... I got banded in Coos Bay by Dr. Tersigni Sept. 28, 2009. I've only had one fill. It didn't do anything. I live in Eugene and would be able to go to Corvallis more easily than I can go to Coos Bay. Do you know if he is doing fills there? I really like the way you described how he did your fill. Thanks, Peggy -
:tt1: It took me a little while to finally decide to have the Lap Band surgery done. I'm glad that I did not rush into this decision. This is a big decision and not one to be taken lightly. The fact is that I can lose weight. I have done it so many times. I bet that so many of you have too. I can lose weight! I can lose it on many plans too. The amount of success I have had losing weight is related to how long I am able to adhere to plan. If I am able to adhere long enough, I can lose quite a bit of weight. HOWEVER, what I have not been able to do is maintain the weight loss for any length of time. I am done with that. I have a friend that wanted me to try to lose weight with her. I thought "no." I will support her in any way that I can, but it would be insanity to try this even one more time. I have heard insanity can be defined as doing the same thing over again expecting different results. I have been insane most of my life. No more. At this point in my life it makes sense to add another very useful tool... the Lap Band. My physical body is in pain all the time now. I've just worn the poor thing out. I need new knees, but won't get them unless I shed weight. My mobility is also limited by lower back pain. I have neuropathy in my feet. I have fibromyalgia which puts a nice frosting on my "cake" of pain. I must lose weight because I'm just not ready to hole up in my house and let the world pass me by. The world IS passing me by now and I can't peddle to catch up. So... try another diet? nupe !!!! On September 28, 2009 I will get my band. It will be a tool that will help me lose weight and gain a little of my life back. It's mine and I don't want to give it up to extra body fat !!! May you enjoy this day, that is unless you have other plans. MrsMeep
