I began researching the surgery quite some time ago. I attended a seminar 7/14, had appt. with surgeon 7/31. Would have been sooner if he hadn't taken a vacation...how rude :wink:. Did pre-op testing 8/3. Could have had surgery 8/20 but had a conflict. Now I'm scheduled for the end of the month. I'm self-pay and that always moves more quickly if you so desire. I was able to choose when surgery would work best for me. Good luck!! TPG

You might also try a "Google" search or another search engine. You can often find posts from patients who weren't satisfied or who have filed complaints - kind of like a "review". I checked out one doc and found that he was involved in a lawsuit (nothing to do with WLS) but it was a subject with which I wasn't comfortable. I moved on quickly! :crying: Any doctor should be willing to give you answers to your questions. I agree with all the responses urging you to do your homework. Best of luck to you!:wink: TPG

Oh, Mike, I'm so sorry! I know you must be feeling really bad but hang in there! Since you're already watching what you're eating and exercising, you're already doing good things for yourself! Maybe you can try an appeal with the insurance. Sorry, I'm self pay so I'm not up on ins regs. Is it possible that all the walking and bike riding converted some fat to muscle? Muscle weighs more. Maybe your doctor can help with re-applying or getting another chance sooner. Five pounds isn't so much. I hope they reconsider. I really hope things begin looking up for you!! Take care, TPG

Surgery date is 8/27 Doing Dad's 80th on 8/23....that should fun...cake, brats, soda, SODA, soda....having a little trouble adjusting to no soda, in case you didn't notice . Also, there will be wine. Actually, this is will be okay. My pre-op diet starts on Mon. 8/24. Thanks for asking! TPG

If you all don't find the Sketchers, there's another brand that is similar. They're MBT and may be the original of this type of shoe. They really work you out! I found some on eBay and got a good deal. They also have a website www.mbt.com I think. When they close out a style, they reduce the prices. They also have a lot of sales. These MBTs are more expensive than Sketchers though. I have a pair and I love them! Also got my mom a pair...she loves them too. TPG Okay, I checked and that is the right web address.
