I hate it when people post just to post.....

Let's face it...being overweight has emotional ties and triggers. But to complain that someone wasn't fat enough to deserve a band is utterly ridiculous. Whether or not you "need" one is up to you and your doctor. With all the body types, sizes, heights, etc., the BMI thing can't be the only factor. Sure, it gives us some idea but it's really not one-size-fits all. Beth makes good points on this. She's a lucky 5'7" where I am all of 5'3". We could weigh the same amount but have totally different outward appearances. I personally am glad that the health care world has finally decided that obesity is a real disease. Who cares what size you're wearing if your health is in danger? Let's just be grateful that there are lap bands and other WLS. And, let's give peas a chance. I'm for whirled peas too! TPG -

Again, I'll use a Beth-ism: Snorkle! -
Actually, it was a woman who posted this thread. We just knew y'all would wanna brag  and would be too shy to start a thread. We would like photos in return for our kind act. Thanks!! TPG

Question: I read lots of posts on this forum...the good, bad, and ugly. As my surgery date looms, I'm starting to wonder if I should lay off. Did reading the horror stories cause any of you to freak out? I think I'm comfortable with the band and the idea of the band, but what if something happens? I thought most of the slippage issues, etc. were happening 'cause people didn't follow the rules, but now I'm reading more and more where it just seems to be a fluke. Okay, I'm getting nervous. My date is coming up soon....eeek. Should I read all the stuff on here or should I stick to possum recipes and play Pollyanna? TPG Thanks! And if one of you tells me to ask my surgeon, I'll hunt ya down -

I can't believe that there are idiots out there complaining that people aren't fat enough for a lap band. WTH is up with that?? Maybe they're jealous because they have a much longer journey ahead of them. 'Cause we all know that losing 10 pounds is so easy and 100, well, you're just a loser and a quitter to get a band. Jeeezzz! I just don't understand people. Being overweight sucks enough all on its own without someone telling you that you're not really fat enough. Guess they weren't with you the last time you went swimming suit shopping . Put your minds at ease folks! I AM fat enough for a band and I'm gonna get one!! So there...ha ha . And if necessary, I'll make the sacrifice and pack on a few more pounds. I'll force myself to eat those brownies, that lasagna, the extra butter.... It'll be tough, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Wouldn't want to be called skinny or something else so rude. Take care everyone! TPG -

I also would like to voice an apology if any of my posts were inappropriate. As for the "seriously curious" thread, all of that was done in fun. If there's something else, please make me aware of the situation. Otherwise, hope everyone is having a great day. TPG -
Nighty night, all

I'm good then. I washed 'em down with a lasagna smoothie...heavy on the parmesan cheese. Thanks for the answer. I figured you'd tell me to check with my surgeon. Sure, like I'd ever call him (again) at 1 am. That restraining order has sure put a crimp in my style. The food at the jail was nice though. And I made many new friends. Beth's vajayjay pic brought back some fine memories. I think I recognized some...uh, never mind. They never did return my "blade" though . Funny, a little time on your hands and you can create weapons from all kinds of jailhouse treasures. You should see my paperclip lap band though. Sure, it hurts a little, but no pain, no gain. TPG

Spent a lot of time on that little bus, huh?

Anybody (RN, medical type person - not street skank druggy, please) have any idea if a couple of old cyclobenzaprines are gonna kill me? I think they're a year or so out of date. Maybe.
-
My vote is for alien. It explains a lot .
-
Plain, The pics weren't so much pathetic as just scary! I didn't know you were that uh, well, um, agile. Or that hairy. Yikes.
-
I'm pathetic? Well, I'm so sorry I don't have a cool band like you do, but I'm still worthwhile and good and kind... ....and I know a great lasagna slushie recipe....that I'm not sharing with you, KC. So there!!
-
Here I is.... Anybody home?
-
Yep, that's the one.
-
Hmmm, that funky monkey also has left us....
-
Beth has been trying to turn over a new leaf and all that nice-ness wore her out!! So, she left the sandbox...
-
Snorkle . Nighty night, Beth. Sleep well.
-
Come on! Let's bet. How many posters will think Beth is serious and will be "mad" at her??? I'm going with 3 by 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Any takers?
-
Wait, I'm confused again. Please remember - I'm new. So is Plain the moron? My roofer who looked like VDO was a moron. I think he used to have a lap band but it got caught around a chimney and stretched. And, I think you all are picking on me 'cause I'm new and haven't been bandeded yet. Or unbandededed either.
-
Actually, I'm more of a "solo" act these days.
-
I was gonna mention the Brazilian wax thread to Beth but I wasn't sure there were any tweezers anywhere up for that task  or enuff wax...
-
Well, at least I didn't tell them about your fondness for garden hoses and...oh, wait, that's ME . Sorry RM!

Ah, we now know why Plain's wife favors turtlenecks. Hides the burn marks.
