With a BMI of only 37 at the time insurance claim was filed, I was very worried I would not be approved. I do not have any major co-morbities like diabetes or high blood pressure, no heart disease. Although family history is very strong for all. However, I do have osteoarthritis, GERD(reflux), cronic back pain, and depression. United Health Care UHC authorized my surgery within 5 days. YAY!!!! My surgery date has been scheduled for 8/13/09. Not looking forward to pre-op liquid diet, which will start sometimes in the next 10-12 days.....but, I can set my mind to this when I think about the outcome.
