Hi everyone, I had my surgery yesterday along with 4 other gals. We are all doing great. no complications. I don't even have the dreaded gas pains. We should be leaving the hospital soon today and then back to our hotel. I feel great! Good to future bandsters...there's nothing to worry about....it's very quick and easy!

Hi everyone its Chrissie. After sweating to out about my pre-diet badness, I met with the nutritonist this AM and everything was just fine!!yew!! I hadent gained any weight at all and that was most important to her. So now I'm very happy to report that I am now 'ON THE BAND'. It went soooo well that right now I am at Dr. Ortiz internet station typing this, I have very little pain and have been able to walk for a while. The staff has been the BEST! to all of you coming this way...best wishes,you'll do great! All of our August bandster are making such incredible progress please keep posting,you are an inspiration to us late-month bands.

Well its been 18 days since I had the surgery and I have lost 15pounds but I havent lost anything in the last 5 days. I have been eating some soft foods- like eggs, noodles, tuna, etc. Since I started eating real food I havent lost anything. is this normal? Also my port still is bothering me a lot. it is still sore. Is this normal. Let me know what you think and thanks for the insight! Lisa:eek:

I was banded on Aug. 1st. and I was so anxious about the proceedure but it went great and I am down 15 already. It is much worse in your head then when you actually get it done. Best wishes to you... Lisa

I am just banded 4 days by Ortiz and Martinez his associate told me that after four days I could do the thicker liquids if I couldnt take it. Ive been doing the broth, jello, water, juice and just taking it slow. Has anyone else heard that after 4 days you could start taking the thicker liquids?

This is my first time on this sight and in fact the first time I have ever posted. i am considering having the lap band done in Mexico and I am concerned about getting filled. I live in New York and want to know If any one has had the surgery in Mexico and get thier fills in U.S. Also has anyone heard anything about Dr. Ortiz in Mexico? I am considering using him. Thanks for the help, I am scared to death of this but want to make the change.

I dont know much about the port because I havent been banded yet. But when ever I fast food and just do liquids I usally feel cold. That could be it but I dont know. However everything I have been reading tells me you should contact your doctor about how you are feeling. Better safe then sorry. Best of luck to you. Lisag77

I am on my way to being banded by Dr. Ortiz on Aug. 2. I was wondering how is it being on the liquids for so many weeks? Is it very hard or is it that after the surgery your really not that hungry and you dont feel like eating? Your insight would be greatly appreciated. Best of luck to you...you seem to be doing really great...I hope that after ten days I can lose that much weight. I have a wedding to go to on Aug 12 and would like to be a little lighter. Thanks Bettina, The more I look into Dr. Ortiz, the more I feel good. So far I have heard only good concerning him. If there is anyone who has heard differently please let me know. Hope all goes well with you...all the best to you, God Bless, Lisa

I am going to mexico because my insurance does not cover the cost and it is 10,000 cheaper thier.

I dont have insurance and the cost in mexico is 10,000 less.
