  1. Hi, I am a nurse also and was banded 9/07. Been stuck at this weight for a few months. I recently got back on track. I have been seeing an Eating Disorder Dietician, doing food journals and really keeping track of things. It is really helping. I can't believe I never found this site before. It is hard as a nurse when working everyone brings treats and the odd hours we keep sometimes we get sleep deprived and don't always make the best choices. I also got into therapy as I really believe anyone who gets as overweight as I was has an eating disorder. I don't want to go back to what I was. I weighed 290 when all this started. I am at 207 now. I wish it were faster but that is not how it is designed. I have to pack my lunches and plan my meals and believe me I hate planning meals. If I don't plan my meals I find myself just grabbing something quick. Hang in there write me whenever you want. Jackie:thumbup:

    Scared

Good news, the EGD was normal except for a polyp in my stomach. The esophagus was normal. I am so relieved to find out the pouch isn't distended. I was so scared about that. Whew! Jackie
  3. I go for my EGD ( Upper Gi) scope this morning. When I talked to my surgeons office on friday they said if they didnt find anything on the scope the band could be the cause of this horrible heartburn and stomach aches. Then went on to add they might have to remove it if that is the case. I'm not done losing weight. Wonder if they will take the band out and do the Roux-en-Y surgery. I am to far ahead of myself. I need to stay into today and quit worrying about the future. Well got to go, I will check in later. Jackie
  4. I got my band in 9/07. I stopped losing weight about 9 months ago. I did manage to lose 90 pounds. I have not had an adjustment in 6 months because I am afraid to go in as last time I had gained weight and the Nurse Practitioner for my surgeon said if I kept gaining they wouldn't adjust the band anymore. They finally talked me into coming in but now I have to have the adjust vs nonadjustment with an upper GI since it has been so long since I had an adjusment. I am excercising my butt off and just can't seem to lose anymore. I am stuck. Then to boot I have to have an EGD (scope) on monday because I have such awful reflux which I have had for years but has been getting worse despite the meds they have me on for it. I am so scared the pouch has stretched, because I have been eating bigger meals the last few months at times. I am scared they won't adjust it and I can tell it needs it. I talked to the Nurse Practitioner and told her I had to have the EGD on monday so now I have to go in tomorrow to get all of the fluid out so they can scope me. So much fear of the unknown and nothing I can do about it but be patient and wade my way through it all. Anyhow thanks for listening. Jackie
