I am so excited! Today I got my psychological scheduled - for this Wednesday. I got all my labs, chest x-ray, etc. scheduled - for this Thursday. I should hear about when i get to see the nutritionist soon. I am so excited. Dr. Gornichec's office rocks! Now - I just hope that insurance will prove to be so speedy. I am so excited - I almost can't think now - and when I do think - this is all I can think about. AAAAHHHHHH - the excitement!!!

When you move back to the OKC area (hopefully) then maybe we can meet up! Sounds like you are doing wonderfully! Tonja

I was filled on 11/27/06 - this was my 2nd fill and I have a 10cc band. I now have a total of 2cc in me. Here is my question - and I have a friend who has the same question... With my first fill I had no restriction what so ever. With my 2nd fill I have lots of restriction - and it seems like everything I eat - no matter what it is - it tends to hurt or give me that stuck feeling. Is it that I have too much of a fill? Will the feeling pass if I let it be? Is it that I am still just really swelled in there and need to stay on liquids/mushy for a while? Tonja

Question about last fill, etc.

Maybe I just need to practice my chewing even more. Maybe I'm doing too big of bites. When I'm eating it seems like I'm really chewing and eating small bites, but I'm really going to pay **really** close attention. I'm also going to do some liquids and mushies for a couple of days and see. -
I'm in the OKC area, but used to be in Sapulpa. I'm not sure who that doctor is either - but it's nice to meet another Okie! Best wishes to you! Tonja

no family support for having surgery..lots of guilt though
Irish Dancers replied to misltoe's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
With my surgeon - had I not had the family support - he would not have performed the surgery. The support is important. Who is going to pick you up and help keep you motivated? -

I'm proud to say I haven't had any, and I'm not going to have any. I've gone too far already to screw this up. -
I'm going to name my band. It's my new best friend - and don't friends usually have names or nick names? I'm naming my band Lenni - Anyone else name their band? If you have - what is your bands name? Tonja

How soon did everyone start excercising after
Irish Dancers replied to roxy123's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had my two week followup appointment today. I told him I have been walking and he thought that was great. He gave me the okay to resume with Irish Dance. So, I will start up tomorrow. He said going ahead and exercising is the best thing you can do. -
Well, I was banded on the 12th and I feel like I am starving to death. Why is this? I'm still on liquids. This is day 22 (which includes the pre-op diet up till now) of liquids. My stomach is actually growling. Why is this?
-
I actually slept on my stomach last night (what a relief). I know that I could have several days ago, but wanted to take it easy. It was such a wonderful feeling. I woke up so refreshed. Today makes one week post op. I had some pain in my chest that was toward the center, but under my right breast and it was preventing me to breath in deeply - mine turned out to be imflamation - rather than gas. I'm on an antibiotic now and I know that it will help. I've had imflamation in this area before several years ago. I am just so thankful for my band. The Lord has really blessed me. Tonja

I had my surgery on the 12th of October. I did a liquid diet for 12 days prior to surgery. Today is day 19 of liquids. It's through the grace of God that I'm still doing great on the liquids. So far, as of today, weighing in at my doctors office, I have lost 20 pounds. How awesome is that. My surgery only took 36 minutes. I've got some gas, but not much. Pretty much no abdominal pain - no port pain. What a blessing. Tonja

I am scheduled for October 12th as well. I started my preop diet today even though I really am not suppose to start until monday. I've gained extra weight during my wait and want to try to get it off. Can't wait!! tonja

I'm right with you on the 12th! I just found out friday! yeah - band twins! tonja

At the weightloss seminar that I attended, Dr. Gornichec told us that there can be post surgical depression. If we ended up with that, to just let him know and he would help us out. It is a very common problem. You are in my prayers! Tonja

Poll - Democrat or Republican?

I just hope we don't end up with another Clinton in the house. I can't stand them. They are both screwballs! -
Denied new insurance coverage because of band!
Irish Dancers replied to Barbara12375's topic in Insurance & Financing
Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Not Banded Yet - Tonja -
How soon is a person able to start exercising (aerobic) after lap-band surgery? My daughters are Irish dancers and I plan to join in on the fun once I have been banded. I was just wondering how soon I would be able to join in. Tonja

I know you have to be so excited. I am hoping for my surgery to be scheduled soon. It will probably happen the beginning of October. I can't wait. Have you met anyone locally who has had it done? I've met some women in the OKC area who have had it done and some who are getting ready to have it done. It's really neat watching the one's who have had it done eat. I look forward to eating like that.

ah - if I would read at the bottom of your post - I would have seen that it says that you haven't been banded yet.
