Hello- My name is Sheila and I am new to this site. I had the lapband surgery in October 2008 and have lost 40 pounds. I really wish it were a little more. I am making an effort to exercise at least 3 days a week. Today, I am having horrible pain- it is right in the middle of my chest. It is really, really bad- crushing pain. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

I am from KY and will be 48 in August. We have two children- a daughter who is 11 and a son 15.

Thanks to all of you for your help.. I did get checked out and luckily, it wasn't anything serious. I ate a little too much and food was stuck. Feeling much better today.

My situation is a little odd, I guess you would say... My doctor performed my surgery on a Wednesday and the next day, he was gone! I didn't find out until I went back for my 1st post-op visit! Talk about a shock. I still do not know the real reason he left.. I've heard several stories. I live in KY- about 40 minutes or so from Louisville. A practice from Lexington now comes here, but they're only here on certain days-Tuesdays and Fridays. If this pain is still here tomorrow- and they way I feel now, it probably will be- I will call. I don't have any of the symptoms of a heart attack- no numbness or tingling- just the pain.

I am feeling somewhat better.. Thank you for all the support... I'm going to try and sleep for a bit now.
