  1. I can't seem to do this either. I was told to chew each bite at least 30 times. I either completely lose track, or whatever I'm eating just does not need to be chewed that much. So far it's been really okay. I just try to go as slowly as I can. When I first got banded they said that I needed to drink water that slowly as well and I could never do it. So far (knock on wood) I haven't had problems with it. No throwing up or PBing or any of that. I've just used that as a measure of whether or not I'm doing okay with it.

    Starbucks Coffee Anyone?

I LOVE Mochas, but have switched to making them at home because it's so much easier to control the calories. I used really good, fresh-ground coffee, 2 TBS of Nestle fat-freef hot chocolate mix and 1 TBS of sugar-free hazelnut creamer. It's about 45 calories. Once in a while, I'll splurge and get one at the coffee shop. Sometimes I feel like I just gotta! I just hate to give up that many calories for a beverage. The thing I find myself really wanting a lot lately is a DQ mocha moo late. It's almost 300 calories for just half of one. I don't go near those without at least one person to share it with. They are scary good though!
  3. I can really relate to this. While no one else has said anything like this to me, I've said it to myself. I've complained a lot that I DON'T see it. I have to work to remember that the loss is real, even if it doesn't look like what I thought it would. I've lost almost 40lbs since my presurgery diet started in mid February. I was banded on April 7th. I do feel it in my clothes. I finally gave up and got some smaller clothes yesterday. I didn't realize how big my clothes had gotten until I put on the smaller ones and they fit fine. I thought I would be more excited to buy new clothes, but I've really put it off. I agree that when there is so much to lose, it takes more for it to show. I still get frustrated though.
  4. I am 3 months post-op and struggle with this as well. This is a lot harder than other things I've given up, like soda. I try really hard to remember. If I have a glass of water, I move it out of my reach while I eat. I find it harder when eating out, because people tend not to believe me when I say I don't want ANTHING to drink. Thy will often bring water, "just in case". I've given up on that and just give it to someone else at the table.

    First Fill Today - Questions

I had the same response with my first fill and I wasn't watching any of it. I came pretty close to passing out, but they had me lie down and did the cold cloth, and when I went back in it went just fine. I didn't feel like I was particulary anxious about it, but they thouht maybe that's what it was.
  6. I have lost 40 as well and just don't see it when I see myself in the mirror. Other people notice and I can tell in some of my clothes, but it can be frustrating that I can't SEE it.
