  1. I also would have thought I would have lost more weight. Im still at the same 22 pounds..I have the restriction, so im eating alot less...Lately though I have been getting nausiated atleast 2 times a week and thankfully I have plenty of phernergan left over from surgery. So I take that and im out for the rest of the day..I will be letting my dr. know this today..I have a 10cc band and its filled 5.something right now...One other thing back in November at my fill, I was telling my dr. about an annoying pain on my right side just below my rib in the front. Very sore, tender to touch. He said at the time to watch it and if the pain changed then come back, said it could possibly be my gallbladder...So im thinking my nausea may be another syptom..But back to the weight loss....Yeah really aggravating me..I know ppl that don't do to much excercising and they have dropped atleast 60 pounds...wonder if its metabolism...am I just destined to be a lard ass???LOL???Going to call dr. right now...

    very odd pain

I have also had that same pain for about the last week. I went in for a fill this past Friday. i showed the tech where it hurt and how tender the area is. I told him that I thought it was maybe the tubing..LOL...Then he tells me there is no tubing there..Asked if the pain radiated to my back, NO, not really, more like a sudden spasm in the upper middle part of my back. Right sided headaches and nausea, but I have been associating the nausea with the lap band..When he felt the area he stepped back a little and said ( u don't ever want to hear this from a medical proffesional) WOW!OH MY!! He asked if I still had my gall bladder, Yes I do, the he told me to take it easy this weekend and keep an eye on things. OK.. Call Monday if no change or go to ER if it gets worse. Well fortunatly, the pain has not gotten any worse, thank God. I really didn't want to spend any time in the Er..I will be calling first thing in the morning though just to see what the doc. has to say. I have learned that ALOT of bariatric patients end up having gall bladder problem and eventually have them removed. Supposedly due to the "shock" of loosing weight, as if weighing as much as a baby elephant wasn't more of a shock..LOL..Anyway thats what I was told, and I have only lost 19lbs since my surgery in June 2009...I hope everything is fine with you, and let us know what ur doc. says, I will def. let you know what mine says.:w00t:
  3. Oh yes I do exercise...I bike ride with the kids everyday and walk and on my exercise ball...im gonna try the oj and bananas, thanks. I would think the bananas would make u more constipated though, thats strange, but i'll try it...:mad2:
  4. I have also had a sudden tightness, I had my 2nd fill about 2 1/2 wks ago. Now all of a sudden starting yesterday I am not hungry and when I did eat I became full real quick. I have been able to eat bread, but today it stopped. The bread thing is ok though, I can go without, I was usually having a piece of toast w/almond butter on it, not anymore it hurt going down. OK, another thing I have noticed that was sudden as of 2 or 3 days ago is extra saliva in my mouth. Kinda feels like im really thirsty, but yet I have extra spit or actually taste like water constantly in my mouth..WEIRD.....One more thing. I have hiccup/burp all the time..My doc. said when it happens when im eating, it means im done..imagine that, kinda like a dinger to let ya know ur food is ready...my kids get a kick out of it..Moms done, they say... Is anyone else having any of these crazy things or anything else, I would love to compare stories. And im still constipated....Weird though, cause after I had my fills and went back to liquids for 2 days I was actually able to go poo, but then after a couple of days im right back to constipation town. Yes I would drink more liquids and soups hoping that I would be able to go, but nope nothing...I hate having to sit on the pot and strain for that.. So not like me..Used to before lapband I was a smoker and big coffee drinker and 1st thing in the mornings I would have that smoke and coffee and my bowels started going, never a problem for me. I have even thought about trying 1 smoke to see if that would help, but I have come so far to start that again.. OK I have reambled enough..

    JUNE 2009 Lap Band Surgery

Hi everyone, I was banded 6-29-09:thumbup: I just had my 2nd fill this past friday. Wonderful!!!!I acyually have restriction and know when im done eating, burp/hiccup is my timer..:blushing:..I have been blending 1 banana 1tsp. skippy natural peanut butter and some skim milk in my magic bullet for breakfast..very yummy and nutrisious...:tongue_smilie:This keeps me pretty satisfied for atleast 5-6 hours. Since my 2nd fill I lost 4 pounds. Bike riding has been my choice of exercise...Fun for me and my kids..Now I just need to find an exercise to help with the belly area. Speaking of "belly"..my belly button started leaking yesterday. Not bright red blood, just the puss clear brownish stuff(YUCK)...and smelly...I did call my dr. they said it was normal. That sometimes there is a "blood pocket" that sometimes pops, but as long as it isn't bright red or pouring out or turning orange then its fine..I thought I had already healed. I was also told the belly button is where they put in the larger cam. Anyone else have a similar story? Oh yeah, and up until saturday I have been so constipated. Of course I was back on the good ol' liquid stuff for the weekend. So now I feel like I need to stay on the liquids even longer. Honey that constipation ain't nothing to play with......Now I feel a whole lot lighter......I cannot wait to be in this ONE der LAND that I hear about. 30 pounds 2GO Start/current/1st goal 251/229/199

    Late periods, anyone?

Thank you for this posting!!!!! I thought I was alone here...I last had mine on June 24 a week before surgery and I have yet to have another, although I have had terrible PMS.....I keep thinking ok im gonna start today, but then nothing. This is driving me crazy......I have been tempted to buy a preggo test as well, even though my hubby can not produce children..HAHA, what a laugh that would be...I have only lost about 20 pounds since surgery so I wasn't to sure if that had something to do with it. I do think that just the sure fact of having surgery maybe has something to do with it..I will be seeing my gyno. this week. Don't get me wrong, im glad im not bleeding and cramping:thumbup: but im so HATING this VERY BAD PMS:bored:...Glad I found this thread....
  7. Had my 1st fill today!!!!..Did not hurt at all..The dr. did inject lidacain 1st and I didn't even feel that. He put in 3cc's. Very simple, very quick. I have been reading horror stories on here how other ppls fills went. Here to tell ya as long as ur dr. knows what hes doing and has a good feel of the port all is ok...No floro for me. I so needed this fill though, cause I was at a stopping point with the weightloss even though im riding the hell out of my bike... I have lost inches and that is a good thing. He told me to go back to liguids until I feel comfortable enough to return to solids. I immediatly felt a different retriction afterwards. Tonight is tortilini broth...YUMMY:tongue_smilie:.I go back in 4wks for another fill. Hopefully I will have lost 10 punds by then, atleast thats my goal.
  8. OHHH i'm so with you on the constipation:eek:....I'm also stuck on my weight loss, so I am also looking forward to my fill. I have been bike riding for about a week now and it is so fun and my kids love it. So hopefully when I have my fill plus my activity level has highly increased the weight will come off quickly...
  9. Feeling good and energetic!!!! I have my 1st fill on 8/11/09...At my post op visit my doc said I was doing amazingly well and was down 14 pounds, that was last Tuesday...Today I am down another 4 pounds...I'm so very excited...I have already begun pulling out some of the "one day" clothes, and finding that I can once again wear some of them...It's like a whole new wordrobe without spending any money...OK, I just had to share. My doc told me that I can eat anything as long as it's healthy, not fried, and of course Protein first as long as it doesn't make me sick...I tried some toast the other morning and it actually helped with some nausea I had. Not doing soft bread for a while though. I am finding that I can only eat small amounts, very small amounts, and I love it. For the 1st time I can tell when i'm full and not to the point of having to fall out on the floor to recuporate(sp)..LOL...I can walk without giving out of air and I love that..I'm on the hunt for a reasonably priced bike..I can't wait..bike riding with the kiddos!!!! start-251 current-233 goal-160
  10. WOW!!! Reading all of these post has me wondering about all the doctors. It seems that everyones dr. has told each of us different things, which I understand to a point I guess..30 days on liquids after surgery? None of the meetings that I went to nor did anyone in the group of dr's. I have never said anything like that. I don't think I could do 30 days of liquids, so kuddos to you Reggaegirl. I have tries a couple of protein shakes and finally have found 1 that I can tolerate it the EAS strawberry cream, I also started yesterday eating 2 scrambled eggs and that really helped with the hunger. We are all different, so each of our journeys will be different too..
  11. Hi, I was banded on 6/29/09 also. My dr. says i'm allowed yogurt and creamed soups now. I feel ya on the fatigued part and I really think it has to do with the whole mind and body thing. You have to get accustomed to it. This change will not happen overnight, we didn't become fat overnight, our bodies and our minds have got to come to terms. I have no more real pain, I feel better each day. I actually slept on my side all night last night. This has made me very observent on reading labels. I went grocery shopping the other day and what usually takes me about an hour took me an hour longer. I didn't really have burping episodes, mine were hiccups.LOL.. My post op visit is set for 7/14 but I want be having my 1st fill then. I too feel like i'm starving, I find that if I chew gum or have some sips of Propel flavored water im ok. But, I do know that those of us whose band is empty it is normal to feel hungry because we have no restriction we are still trying to fill our "soda bottle size" tummies...
