I am halfway through the first day of pre-op liquid diet. I'm chewing gum, even though I don't really usually do that, but my breath was knockout (I'm pretty sure it's from ketosis or whatever that was that I remember from my Diet Center days). I realized 20 burps into the morning after my protein shake (thanks to my band buddy) that I'm lactose intolerant and I need to get some Lactaid. I also had forgotten about a planned lunch with my work team, so I drank hot tea while everyone ate and then had my Optifast shake later. It actually wasn't that bad, because I hate Chinese food.
I'm sitting here thinking, though, about all the groceries I just bought for the family for the next 10 days, and what is going to happen to them! I was able to fast track my surgery because of a trip in August (and because I'm self-pay), so I didn't have a lot of time to really think about the family meals. I'm not sure if I can actually cook for everyone and not eat.
