Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi babyboys, welcome! I cannot state for sure whether CDB will band you, but there is an article on the BBC website condeming him for offering a band to a researcher whose BMI was 29.8. It was probably written by one of those know-it-alls who think we're fat 'coz we're stupid and don't understand the principles of dieting. However, it does mean your chances are better than if you tried in the UK where they would be zero. Here's a link to the article. Draw your own conclusion. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7658410.stm Good luck in your quest SP

Me again! I'm up to page 140 now - it's great when the boss is on holiday! What's everyone doing about fills these days? Chris and Fred or WLS? I'm tempted by the WLS package but wonder if I ought stay with CDB. What's his secretary's number to book fills in London please? Good idea to make the first booking in advance without saying the band's not actually fitted yet! Thanks

Thanks for all the lovely welcoming messages everyone, it's great not to feel so alone on this big adventure. Welcome Starsky - who knows we may meet if you go for 8th Septmber with me! Anyone else out there going for that date? I'm up to page 116 with the forum reading plus a few of the most recent, gosh, there's so much knowledge out there, we could write a book!! OK, I've booked, bought my baggy trousers, meltlets, motilium, papaya, dressings and cuppasoup, paid my deposit, renewed my passport and booked holiday leave. Started a low fat diet and trying to practise chewing - when I remember. Now what???? There's still 7 weeks to go. I Can't wait!!! I even sneaked in a consultation with the professor of a UK banding company to check he thought it would be all ok (Yes it would, for only £7995!) Keep up all the good work everyone, and thanks once again SP

Hi everybody and a huge thank you for all the help you've given me so far - without even knowing it! Thanks to you all, I've decided to have the surgery, read the American book on AGB, got my GP's approval, decided to go to Dr Chris, booked through Bridget, unbooked through Bridget, booked directly with Frederik, seen Miss Flump's youtube videos, laughed greatly at Gillian and BigSis, paid my deposit, booked my train tickets and convinced my husband it is the best thing I could do. I'm booked for surgery on Tuesday 8th September, anyone else out there going at the same time? I have one question to which I cannot yet find an answer; if I got a "tummy bug" and just couldn't help vomiting, what happens? :crying: Does it come up past the band, can it damage the placement? BTW, I lost a lot of weight once before and had an abdominoplasty but it's creeping back on - hence the band. So if anyone has a question about abdominoplasty (or breast reduction!) I may be able to help. Really looking forward to being part of that ever shrinking community of bandsters! SP
