I have Aetna ! I went through the 3 months with True Results and it took 2 weeks for my paperwork to get submitted because from what I was told the girl who did the summaries was on vacation. whatever!!! anyways once they submitted it I got my approval within 3 days!! Hopefully it will go quickly for you too.

Hi everyone!!! for some reason I stopped getting notices in my email that there were new posts in here so I thought everyone went away :thumbdown: I had a minute to check on everyone and here you all are still Well I have my bloodwork, cardiogram and chest xray on the 1st.. i am a little nervous considering I have been a smoker since the age of 9.. yes 9 . I start liquids on the 3rd and surgery is on the 8th . I pray everything goes smoothly and that I come out of surgery smiling and ready to take on the world again..

Welcome kgroysman! Ok what is whitefish salad? Is it anything like tunafish? I am not a seafood eater but I have been told I better become one and fast. So the shake you made... is it tasty at all? I know I like the slimfast shakes but have been told they are the worst ones to get . I'm so confused over what to do,what tastes good etc. All I know is that I want to do what is best in regards to making this work.

Hello everyone!! I hope we are all having a great weekend So here is my issue of the day... well my surgery is still a month away and my family keeps begging me to cook their favorite meals 3x a day (which are definately not healthy) because they are afraid that I will never cook for them again! And we all know what happens when we start cooking the favorites, we eat it!! alot of it. I feel miserable and have heartburn however a little voice keeps saying wow that was so good and there's a little left in the fridge, and you know you wont be able to eat it much longer etc etc etc. How are you all getting yourself into the frame of mind that not eating country fried chops and gravy anymore is not the end of the world? My sister bless her heart is just as heavy as me but wants to try to lose it on her own before considering lapband..well she has tried a few recipes from this healthy cookbook she got and BLECK!!!!! I wonder if after being on the liquid pre-op we will be able to re-train our tastebuds.

Hello!! Finally I find one for September although I must say the peeps in the August one were very very sweet. Ok here it goes. I am 38 years old with 3 sons. I work fulltime at a desk and have resisted any type of exercise for the past few years. Franky it hurts to even get around when you are this big but I am so tired of being heavy. I'm also tired of having sweat collect in creases that don't belong on my body and under spots that used to be up higher on my body, if you catch my drift. My surgery date is September 8th with Dr. Snow. I can't wait !! I am about 5'11, 310 with a bmi of 43. I start my preop on September 3rd and I also have no idea what shake to get, I hear so many horror stories about taste, consistency and what they do to your intestines. So if any of you have suggestions please pass them along. I hope to get to know each and every one of you as we collectively go through this journey of a lifetime. Blessings to you and yours..

Is it just me or is everyone else chomping at the bit wanting the surgery like....NOW!!. I know Sept 8th is not that far off but maybe some miracle will happen and someone cancels leaving a spot for me to do it earlier? Maybe they will call and say oooooh we meant August 8th come see us in the morning.... or... maybe this along with my hopes at winning the lottery and getting a free breast lift/tummytuck at the end of all this is a bit too much to ask? lol I'm just sayin :scared2:

Hi there!! Yes we do need to keep in touch , so no surgery date yet ? Here's crossing my fingers that you get it really really soon. I am located in the DFW Texas area. So do you plan on doing a blog or anything? I was thinking about it but I am still having a difficult time admitting I have a weight problem and to put it out there where people can see everything is still a bit scary. Keep me posted!!

Hello there! Congrats on taking the steps to get healthy. I also need a buddy. I am not self pay thank goodness. I start my preop diet on Sept 3rd and my surgery is set for Sept 8th which seems like a lifetime away. Keep us posted!!

Hello all.. My name is Karena and I'm from DFW Texas. I am 5'11 310lbs and have a bmi of 43.23 . I have lurked in the forums for years before finally deciding to do something about my weight. Well I just got the call this morning that Aetna approved my surgery!! I was shocked that it was only submitted to them last Thursday and here I got approved already. I was so excited to finally have something to post about lol. I was told the nurse would call me tomorrow with my surgery date. I have read most of your posts and will finish reading them shortly.
