  3. Hi, I will be 3 years post op at the end of August. I feel really stupid because I don't know how I got to this point. I was doing great and then all of a sudden...wham. I had lost 130 lbs and was doing wonderful until I started having some major acid issues. I went to my dr and they discovered that I had a dialated esophagus. They took all the saline out of my band. I have spent the last year trying to get back to a good fill. I think I have picked up some bad habits along the way. I currently have 11 cc in my 10 cc band. Yes, you read correctly. I am over filled but had to be in order to feel any restriction at all. When they took my saline out of my band because of my esophagus dialation they actually took out 13 cc's. They had no idea how that much could have gotten in there. They had records of all my fills and couldnt understand why there was so much in there. Anyway I gained 45 lbs when my band was out of commission. I cannot seem to get back to a good weight loss regimine again. I guess maybe I am eating soft calories or consuming sliding foods. I don't know. I am just concerned I will never get back to my losing weight again. My dr will not put any more saline in my band and I don't really think I need it. I need a kick in the butt. That is where you come in. I need help with what I should be eating. What I should be staying away from. Please help me. I have another 150 lbs to lose. PLEASE HELP! I am a mother of 2, 36 years old and live in Kansas. I am looking for someone that will hold me accountable.

    What is NORMAL?

Ok, dont you want the food to stay in the pouch? That is what gives you the full feeling for 4-5 hours, right? Well it is uncomfortable when I eat because of the food gurggling through. But it gets more uncomfortable with every fill. Right after surgery was perfect. I could eat small amounts without pain and I would stay full for 4-5 hours, sometimes I wasnt hungry at the next mealtime. It was great! I thought I was suppose to be looking for that fullness again. This is what I have been eating: Breakfast-slim fast Lunch- chicken chili Supper-Hamburger patty and green Beans snack- yogurt raisins This is an average day. I couldnt eat all of the hamburger patty because I gave up because of the discomfort. Thanks for all your help and suggestions. Also my DR is 3 hours away so I dont see him but 1 time a month.

    What is NORMAL?

I have been banded for 5 1/2 months. I just got my 4th fill yesterday. I have 9cc in my 10cc band. I am still waiting for the full feeling. I thought I had experienced it about 2 weeks after surgery. When I started eating some more solid foods I could only eat a small portion and would get this thick feeling in my chest and middle of my back. Well that went away quickly and of course I was able to eating any and everything. After 4 fills now I have alot of discomfort and gurggling when I eat and I am not feeling the full filling. Maybe because I have given up eating, because of the discomfort. I am taking very small bites and chewing alot. What am I doing wrong?????????????????????????????? I am thankful that I have lost 46 lbs. I have 150 more to go so the 46 is a drop in the bucket. I am open to any and all suggestions. Thanks so much! 7. Hi, I am 9 days post banding and feeling pretty good. I am now on some mushy foods and feeling good that I dont have to be on liquids anymore. My problem is that whenever I eat anything for several hours after I have pieces of food that feel like they are in my throat. I am not spitting up or anything but I am having to constantly swallow to get them out of my throat. I dont think I am overeating, I am not eating much at all. It seems to worsen as the day goes on and by night time I can hardly go to bed because of all this food in my throat. Before being banded I had acid reflux really bad. My Dr said I would no longer need to take my medication. I was wondering if maybe I still have the reflux and this is how it acts with the band. I dont know. I am so confused. Is what I am feeling normal, am I overeating, is this reflux?????? :help: Please let me know if you have any suggestions or advice. Thanks, Johni Sue Banded 8/31/06 by Dr Malley -25 lbs

I hope I am posting this in the right place. I am from Salina Kansas, my name is Johni Sue and I am 34 years old as of tomorrow. I have been banded now for 7 days and doing pretty good. I have about 200 lbs to lose. I have lost 25 lbs so far and was wondering if some of the things I am feeling are normal. In the evening after I eat supper it feels like little pieces of food keeps coming back in my throat. I dont know if this is normal or not. Also I have more pain after eating in the evening. The pain seems to be in my back. All of this is so new to me. It is hard to know what is normal and what I need to be doing differently. So confused! Johni:help:
