Yeah they told me I would have to do the 2 week opti fast. I have started to clean out my kitchen in prep for it! Yeah I have a lot of weight to lose but given my height (5'10) and age I was told that the I could look to lose lots on the liquid diet which in turn will hopefully give me the energy to get into the gym after I get clearance post-op!

I'm actually going through a surgeon's office in Virginia. Bluepoint Surgical Group. Called insurance on Monday and the lady stated that the nurse was reviewing all my records...I guess I'm getting closer?!? How long does it take to review documents??? Very fustrating but I have began a strict diet and excercise regime to get me in the mindset of my soon to be new life style!!! I just hope I hear something this week!

I have BCBS of MD and submitted to insurance last Thursday!! Hoping to hear something this week. From most folks experience, how long did it take you to find out something from Insurance? On pins and needles!!!! :wink2:

So I Called insurance and they say they recieved it on July 25th and current status as of last Friday July 31st is pending.... Praying that I find out good news by my support group meeting this Thursday!!!!

I know how you feel when you say you want someone close to your age. I'm 26 and feel that way sometimes too. I have made the choice not to share my decision to have surgery with anyone and at times it can be very lonely not having someone who may understand what you are going through. I'm not ashamed of my decision by any means, I just don't want to be starred at or observed as I am going through this process and have people feel the need to ask me if I am okay 10 million times! Things will get better! I am still waiting to hear back from insurance, doc office assures me they will hear something today and then I can begin the countdown to Lap Band!! Good luck to you! Yeah, I've called twice today and she is booked back to back with patients. I've left several messages for her to return my call. If I don't hear anything by the end of the work day today, I am going to drive the 50 minutes tomorrow and wait until she finishes my report....I can't believe she's doing this to me.

I am so sorry that is happening to you. I am currently struggling with my Surgeon's office and them delaying my insurance submission. What's even worse is the lady I was venting to tried to defend the office by saying I shouldn't have been promised anything and they have over 100 insurance submission to input a month!! I am so upset, mainly because any other doctor's office I would have told them to kick rocks and switch doctors but I feel like I'm stuck!! I hope everything works out for you (and me)! I too am hoping for an August date...

I am soooooo upset right now! I just called my surgeon's office just to make sure its been submitted and they tell me they are waiting on the dietation to finish her report!!!! OMG, she told me she would have it completed within a day and submit last Thursday! I have done my part and now you tell me its been seating on her desk for almost a week!?!?! I can't stop crying....

CONGRATS!!! I submitted today and have BCBS MD so I hope to deliver the same news soon! Please keep us posted!!! YAY!!

I am 26 yrs old, current BMI of 46 with a height of 5'11. I have completed all my insurance requirements (psych eval, PCP referrel, and 6 month class). I complete my last class on 7/14 and they are hoping to submit everything by the 15th or 16th I have been researching gastric banding for 5 years and have finally made the committment to change my life. I have Carefirst BCBS of Maryland and it just makes me sooooo nervous that they hold my future in their hands!!! Maybe I'm just venting but I for the life of me can't think of any possible reason why they would say no!!??:tongue_smilie:
