Banded June 4, doing well but...
vicki jo replied to amarsh's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know that I was embarrassed to start off with to tell others about my plans to have lapband because I was so judgmental and jealous of others who could not only afford this surgery but appeared to be cheats in the weight loss world and only because I would work so hard to lose weight and get no where. Well not only was I wrong in judging these people but when I found out that I had sleep apnea and an under active thyroid to add to all my weight loss woes I realised that this surgery is a life saver for all of us and decided that I would let everyone that showed an interest in me know about my new journey and be proud of it because really it is just a tool to help us succeed and that is entirely up to us. But more importantly I know that others will think the same of me that I previously thought of others and that is something I can live with because of what I have learnt. And I can defend and explain what this journey and how hard it really is to any doubting thomas. You will make the right choice as to who you want to know and you will succeed and shine doing it! -
:thumbup:almost 3 weeks since surgery and the doctor says i can eat more if i am still hungry and its fine that i am trying all the foods on the post op diet as long as i chew them well and dont suffer any pain. Lets face it its impossible to over do it.

i had my surgery june 18. I was out walking the day after i was discharged, slowly for sure but it seemed to help heaps. I know what you mean about the pain after surgery, I have had 4 caesarian deliveries and they were not as painful. The feeling was like I had my ribs cracked open for heart surgery or something. I still have a funny feeling in my left side like there is something moving around or putting pressure on me from the inside, but apart from that I am walking 4 km plus a day, but my appetite increased greatly at about day 12.

Is any one else on a three week post-op
vicki jo replied to tenater's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i know how you feel to a degree. My pre surgery diet was optifast 3 times a day,2 litres of water and some greens for fiber. This was for 6 weeks and 4 days prior to surgery, it was suppose to be 8 weeks. Whether this makes a difference for after surgery I cannot tell you but I was able to have anything that was a smooth consistency for the first 14 days and then I could have scrambled or soft poached eggs for instance. I was also able to introduce mashed veggies.I think by reading what others have said that all doctors have a different method and I would ring my doctor just to ask if there are some exceptions.
