Hello everyone. I had my third fill yesterday and I have a few concerns and I am hoping some of you could help me figure out what to do. As soon as I got to the parking lot of my doctors office right after my fill I started feeling like the water I just drank was going to come back up. I have never vomited in the 6 months I have had the band. I sat in my car and I burped up the water over and over again. It was kind of foamy like a lot of spit. I know it sounds gross, sorry. I continued to do that for about 20 minutes. I started to feel a little better and when I got home, I tried to drink some warm tea. I burped that up as well but I did manage to keep it down. Later I tied some chicken broth and the same thing happened. This morning, I am trying to drink a little coffee and am having the same problem. My question I guess is should I contact the Doctor or should I just wait until the swelling goes down and see how I feel. I need some advice please. I am leaving town next week for 2 weeks and need to know what to do. Thank you for your time. Happy Holiday's!!!

Hi everyone. It has been 3 months since my surgery and at first everything was great. I lost 10 pounds in the first couple of weeks and I have had one fill. I go for my next one on the 29th. My problem is that I have only lost 15 pounds and I workout regularly. I do cardio and weight train. I don't have much restriction anymore and can eat like I used to. I try hard not to over eat but sometimes I do. I have had some serious family emergencies in the last 6 weeks and my stress level is through the roof. I eat when I'm stressed and therefore I feel like I am letting myself down. I am hoping that after my fill I will feel better and the weight will start coming off again. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Again, thank you everyone for your words of wisdom. I got my second fill 3 days ago and I have lost a few more pounds. I am hoping that this restriction lasts. I am focusing on myself and trying to be positive. vinking_girl, congrats on your surgery and good luck. The gas pain isn't fun but try to walk and follow what they tell you. Let me know how it all goes.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is hard and I am commited. I am hoping that after this fill, things will start moving again. Angie, Congrats on losing 32 lbs. That is just wonderful and motivating. I hope to see that number in time. Thank you Babs for letting me know I have people out there that I can lean on. Take care.

Great job. Working out makes me feel good too. It's hard to start but once you get into it, it's great. Keep up the good work. -
It's easier to stay on track....than fall off and start over!

Congratulations! Now that you are back in the exercise thing, you will feel so much better about everything. I am really happy for you. It is so great that you have lost 50 pounds. That is just wonderful. I do hope that in time I can say the same thing. Keep up the good work. -
Hi. My question is regarding my first fill. How much do they put in? Is there any discomfort along with a fill? The reason I ask is that I am going on Vacation 6 days after my scheduled fill and I won't be around any hospitals or doctor's offices. Should I wait and do my fill after vacation? Please, someone help me. I need all the advice I can get. Thank you so much for your time.:cursing:

I'm doing pretty good. It has been hard at times but it is getting much easier. I get my first fill on the 27th and since it will be my first, I'm nervous. I think it's great that you walk on your breaks. Good for you. For me, I think the exercise is making me feel better and I know it is good for my heart. I'm very lucky to have my husband workout with me. I have lost 10 pounds and I hope that is pretty good and what it should be. I wish you all the best and may God bless you.

Try Isopure. It is loaded with protein and the protein will help keep you feeling fuller longer. Plus, it doesn't have carbs and the calories are low. It comes in different flavors like, grape, orange, apple, fruit punch. It is a great drink for after the surgery as well. It does come in a powder form also. Look for it in the health food stores. Congratulations and good luck, it is so worth it.

No, don't give up. You can do it. I have only been banded for 2 and 1/2 weeks and I know this process is a little stressful but just stay positive and focus on your health. Don't beat yourself up if you cheat a little. Just start fresh the next day. This is a start to a whole new you. Remember to eat your protein first and drink lots of water. Try to take a walk every morning or evening, it will make you feel better. Good luck to you. Stay POSITIVE!!

Well, it's been 2 and 1/2 weeks since my sugery. I have lost 10 pounds and 11 inches off my body. I can't see a difference yet when I look in the mirror but my clothes are fitting looser. I am pretty happy with the results so far. I do enjoy working out and it definitly makes me a happier person. I have a long way to go but I know I can do this. Good luck to the rest of you, we can all do it!!:smile2:

Warrior Princess, I know what you mean about losing it up top. I lost 2 inches there and I really don't want to lose ANY there. I get my first fill on the 27th. I am going to ask for half of what they would normally put in because I am going on Vacation and won't be close to any hospital's or Doctor's offices. I will post and let you know how my first fill went. I think you have every right to ask for a local, it's your body. Thanks for the word of incouragement. It's so nice to be able to talk with people this way. Good luck to you.

The Skinny on Fills Gone Bad
Utahchick commented on ALuv82's blog entry in The Skinny: A Journey Through Lap-Band Surgery
I really enjoyed your story. I am new to this whole thing, 2 and 1/2 weeks post op. I get my first fill on the 27th and am a little nervous. I'm not afraid of needles or anything, I just don't know what to expect. Good luck to you. -

Try drinking Isopure. It has 40 grams of protein per bottle and it keeps the hunger down. Look for them in the health food stores. They are a little expensive but so worth it. Good luck.

Yes, I agree, walking helps so much. I walk on the treadmill everyday. I started out really slow for about 15 minutes, now I walk about 2 miles. It makes my whole body feel good and it has helped my stomach go down.

Thank you so much for your information. This is still so new for me and it is good that I have this support system. I will call my Doctor. Again, thank you.

I was banded 2 weeks ago. I had the same problems and feelings as you do. Don't worry, the gas will go away in about a week. Put some heat on it and take your gas x. I too thought I made a mistake but you will feel better soon. When you eat, sip everything very slowly and you will be fine. Good luck to you. Stay postive.
