Juwel's Lapband Story:There once was a girl named Amy, who grew up in a smallish town in the middle of nowhere. Her parents and siblings never understood her frustration and pain as they were small sized people. Once she graduated highschool she left to another smallish town outside a big city. There she was subjected to horrendous cafeteria food and stress which increased her weight exponentially. Freshman 15 was more like Freshman 30. Years later, after moving off campus and learning to cook for herself, she met her prince charming. Despite her physical flaws, it was love. Amy packed up her stuff and moved to the city to be with her loving prince. Trying to cook for 2 and crazy work scheduals wreaked havoc on the young couples diet, making the situation worse for both. When Amy returned home to see her youngest sibling graduate from her same highschool, she was embarrased and ashamed to be seen. When she had left the same school behind 7 years earlier she was 200lbs, and now was sitting at a scary 310. Always terrified of the "conversation" bound to come up when she visited her parents, Amy went into battle completely unarmed and exhausted of the same fight that had been happening since she was 10 years old. Surprisingly her father approached her about her weight issue this time. Always the type of man to panic when tears came, he stood his ground and told her that himself and her mother would like to change their position from opposing weightloss surgery to one that was supportive of her decision. The concerned parents and Amy researched day and night to determine whether lapband surgery was the right choice. Amy knew in her heart years prior that this was the road she would take and was pleased and relieved that her parents had finally seen the risk she was in by not having the surgery. Within a few short weeks, Amy completed her consultation and booked her surgery date. Amy's lapband story has only started and she will have the rest of her life to fill the blank pages with the completion of her dreams.
