    Realize Band

Do any of you have the Johnson and Johnson realize band? What is the capacity of the band? How many cc's do you have? When did you feel a good restriction? I have had four fills and am up to 6cc. I am still always so hungry (even after eating excellent - high Protein, etc)

    Water!!

Prior to my lapband surgery (6-9-09) I was the Water drinking champ!! Since surgery, not so much. Are you experiencing the same? How much water are you supposed to drink everyday? How much do you drink per day? Any ideas or clues on how to get it all in? Do you think it helps with moving the weight loss along? How important do you think getting the water in is?

    Lossing hope

Oh man! Halloween threw me off big time. But now I know I have to fight through the craving and get on with it!! Start doing some visualizing - seeing yourself with a small belly!! :tongue_smilie: A few days off the sweets and you will no longer crave them!! We can do this!!!
  9. I have heard good arguements for weighing in daily or weekly. What do you do?
  10. I like EAS vanilla whey Protein mixed with skim milk and 1/2 banana. I also like Slim Fast Cappuccino What's your favorite?
  11. I had my surgery on 6/9/09 I survived the liquid diet. I have slowly introduced soft solids back in and I eat about 1/2C of Protein, 1/2C starch, 1/2C fruit/veggie. My first fill is scheduled for 7/14/09 (5 wks post surgery) I FEEL ZERO RESTRICTION. Is this normal? I can even eat and drink at the same time. It's like nothing is there - like I never had the surgery. I have lost 19 pounds. I was down 21 but last Tuesday's weigh in showed me up 2 pounds!! I am really worried that I am going to undo all I have done! YIKES Have any of you experienced this? What helped?

My fill can't come soon enough!!

It may seem weird that I am answering this because I am waaaay behind you but my mom is a complete band success story. Yes, you will reach a point where you KNOW the band is helping. I truly believe the band is already helping you whether you feel it or not. I am in the same position. My mom has reached her sweet spot and it's 100% the band that is keeping her from eating too much. I bet you start feeling it in this next fill or the next, for sure!! If not keep making your appointments with that new doctor you have in August!! Be done with this jerk!!

My fill can't come soon enough!!

Thank you everyone. Great advice. I am trying to embrace it and eat when I am supposed to. I really appreciate all of your ideas and thoughts. I love knowing I am not alone!!
  15. I was told to stop drinking 30 minutes before and resume one hour after. Maybe they want to make 100% sure that the pouch is empty???
  16. Hi! I am Erin. I got my band on June 9, 2009. I am excited to be part of this group! My mom was banded on April 1, 2008. She's been an incredible success story and I plan to follow in her footsteps!! I look forward to getting to know you guys, supporting you, and being supported by you
  17. My opinion is if you want this bad enough and you've waited and waited it's time to do it!! I am a self pay. My insurance wouldn't cover it. My mom tried to fight insurance. Her BMI was over 40 and she had comorbidities. Diabetes (with a lot of insulin via pump) and sleep apnea. They fought for a long time and they were never going to approve it. It's a very hard battle to win these days. She ended up self paying and is now down 100 pounds, off all medications (completely diet controlled diabetes), no apnea and at goal. This all since April 1, 2008. I say go for it!! You seem ready!
