You won't be able to buy life insurance, I found that out first hand! Go figure, here im doing someting to make myself healthier and now I don't qualify for life insurance! But if I would have stayed more obese then I qualify?? makes no sense. I think if you plan on working for someone, you will qualify under the group plan. But if you plan on getting your own private insurance somewhere you probably won't qualify. Thats just my thoughts though.

Ok, I've been totally off program for the past few days. I had a terrible cold and I just ate whatever I wanted. BAD BAD BAD. Starting tomorrow I will get back OP and do this right!! Dangit im mad at myself. I started back to work and I had to bring my baby to daycare. I don't think im an emotional eater but who am I kidding... I must be. Im totally trying to comfort myself with food. Dangit I need to give myself a proverbial kick in the butt and get back to business. I want to beat this obesity!!!! My goal is to eat RIGHT tomorrow, even though it is Halloween. I was thinking about not getting a fill but I now realize I must. I thought I could diet until TDay and then get a fill afterward, but obviously I cannot trust myself. Im going to get my fill and do this, really do this, actually put my band to work for me. Thats it! Its on! :heh:

So are you saying you now agree there are indeed 10 Commandments? LOL KIDDING KIDDING KIDDING LOL -
:clap2: Donna Marie! I love your post! You have a great upbeat attitude. Its so inspiring to hear it!! Thank you !!! Congrats on the diabetes, sometimes we get so stuck on the vanity of losing weight we forget how much more important our physical health is in the grand scheme of things. Although the vanity is good for the mental/social health!! LOL I don't know what Im trying to say here but your post just has me all hepped up and happy lol. Yayyyy Donna Marie!!!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

I would say do what you want to do Virginia. Especially if you can afford to have RNY if the band doesn't give you the results you want. For me the lapband was my only choice, I just didn't want the open surgery and the drastic changes to my guts. The band is working for me so far!! Im happy with my choice. The thing is, if you try the band and it dosn't work right for ya you can switch to RNY, but if you go RNY, well theres no going back if you regret it. I mean that can be looked at as a positive or a negetive depending on your own personal feelings. good luck to you in whatever you decide!

please read about my gastroparesis!!!
KariK replied to bandednomore's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Heidi, looking back, with the exception of not getting the band, is there anything you would have done differantly to possibly avoid the condition you are now enduring? Thank you for you very informative post! -
Laughing Laughing Laughing I totally agree with you. It seems like people just 'have' to believe that whatever they do is the 'best'. There is no one 'best' thing for everyone. We are all unique. RNY, especially open surgery, would not even be an option for me. Id rather be fat at this stage in my life. But thats just MY oppinion about whats best for ME. I don't know why sometimes people are so closed minded. You really summed it all up well though lol. Good post!

Hi welcome White! It will get easier to adjust to once you are off the liquids and onto the mushies. Just hang in there. The healing time is hard but you'll look back on it and it won't seem like it was that big of a deal eventually. Thank goodness you found this site, it has been a real plus for me!

Well you've gotta learn whats going to be tolerable for you by trial and error unfortunately. My only advice is to not test the waters at the job party, unless everyone knows you are banded, and you don't mind having a possible PBing episode in front of everyone. Eventually after a while you know what you can and cannot eat so partys are no problem. Good Luck! You'll figure it all out in time. Im still figuring it out too.

PRotein Drinks/ Triggers for Migraine Sufferers ?
KariK replied to coltonwade's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I use Protein powder from www.unjury.com. The ingredients are as follows: Unflavored: Whey protein isolate, soy lecithin. chocolate: Whey protein isolate, fructose, natural and artificial flavors, citric acid, soy lecithin, acesulfame, aspartame, FD7C red #40, FD&C yellow #6. I don't know if those ingredients are names for MSG or not, Im not sensitive to MSG. I really like these protein powders though, and if the ingredients are acceptable to you, Id recommend them. -
I think Alexandra had it right when she said you might have the wrong sized band. You probably do need the larger one. Aww I feel so bad for you. Hope you are able to get better soon. Hang in there.

I love my treadmill, it was about $850.00, I bought it 6-7 years ago. I would second the fact of buying an expensive one! It is an investment. I got mine at Sears.

I don't think theres anything wrong with dress codes in the work place. But when adults are on their own time, why should any other adult have the right to tell them what to wear? Furthermore when my children are on thier own time, its up to me what they wear. Life, LIBERTY, and pursuit of happiness! And some ppl maybe like seeing underwear?? lol I don't like seeing underwear either, but I can tolerate it, what would be intolerable to me would be police arresting or ticketing someone for it.

Us girls gotta stick together, all boobs are beutiful! Even if a shaking banana happens to wearing them... lol funny. But on a more serious note, it does help tremendously for me personally and im sure for you too, to have friends on LBT to talk to and question in regards to the band. I never would have guessed that the topics would turn to such unrelated to the band issues such as religion, politics, etc. But as long as we call all just try to remember what we are REALLY here for and respect each other, well hey then thats just a big bonus. -
Combining TT/Breast recon with prophylactic mastectomy
KariK replied to chameleon's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Donna don't they make you wait to heal before they do the reconstruction? Im just thinking maybe you should get the mastectomy first, then the band, then the reconstruction and add in a TT too boot! -
My daughter goes to a private Catholic school, and there is a dress code as well. I don't think theres anything wrong with dress codes in schools for children. But its when its a dress code for adults in regular everday life well...I would definitely start protesting by wearing baggy pants if they even tried it! lol Probably have to sit my fat butt in jail over it. (on a side note, my pants really are getting baggier everyday!)

Its funny how when ppl disagree with someone's point of view they look for silly little stuff to nit-pick about. I don't agree with everything you say, I don't agree with everything ANYONE has to say, but I would only hope I would not stoop to being a nit-picker lol. Rock on Carol, whatever you decide to do. -

KariK replied to Sunta's topic in The Lounge
Geez Carol, who cares what any person thinks of your shaking banana. I don't think a cartoon character with breasts is in anyway unchristian or unholy or whateva anyone might think. I always do whatever I think is best for me, I don't let anyone else decide for me! Who are they to judge you? There is only one judge. So if you want a boob shaking banana have one. To thine own self be true. -
:cheer2: CHEERS TO YOU BPM!! WTG!:cheer2:

Hmm when I read the bible I see 10 commandments. The number of verses don't confuse me at all. I guess we just see things differantly TOM . I think its pointless to argue about numbers, whats important is the message. Wether you want to get the message from 10 commandments or 22 verses or whatever, matters little to me. I have a great feeling about my own understanding of right and wrong in terms of religion, morals, family, God, etc. I have a blessed life. I try to do my best in everything I do. If in the end it doesn't measure up on judgment day.. I won't know until I get there.
