Congrats Stefanie and Don Marie!! You both are doing so well! Mary!! Im so proud of you for losing more!! And Exercising. WTG!! Im sorry I haven't been able to post as much lately. My husband has multiple projects going, and I end up picking up all the peices. I love him dearly lol but my gosh sometimes I want to just tie him up and make him settle down!!! My baby daughter Luciana turned 6 months old on the 12th. Regrettably I have to start working at my office again, and will have to bring her to daycare today for the first time . I totally trust my daycare as she took care of my 5 year old Julia for years, and did great with her. But still, its sad for me!!! Sherri, You seriously need to see a therapist to learn how to put up boundaries. It seems like you feel you are victomized alot to me. But what you don't realize is that you have to take care of you first! I think your husband is fed up with you letting everyone around you take advantage of you and your home. He is getting dragged into your co-dependant behavior, and probably getting pissed about it. You are taking on everyone else's problems. Why? If you love your kids you've gotta give them wings and push them out of the nest so to speak. I don't know if this would work for you but an idea I have for you is to write your kids a letter and tell them that you love them but you won't be a doormat anymore. Tell your daughter that from this point onward you require 48 hour notice if she wants a babysitter, and that you reserve the right to tell her no. That way if you want to say no to her she has 48 hours to find someone else. And tell her to not even ask if she doesn't give you 48 hours. You've got to learn the words NO, HELL NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT. Some of your earlier posts you seem upset that people don't feel sorry for you.. well would you feel sorry for someone if they were the cause of their own problems over and over again? Stand up for yourself. If you can't do it then you need therapy to learn how. I had therapy, it doesn't make you a crazy person to admit you need help. Sherry I really care about you and it really makes me sad to see how unhappy you are. Its easier to fix it than you think. Please just take whatever steps you need to develop healthy boundaries. I hope my words here don't seem overly harsh, I just really want you to get help!

Everthings going pretty good for me. Im down another pound .. YES! I even ate some cake at a baby shower yesterday and two bowls of chili. Weird lol. My life is so busy these days, we have multiple building projects going, a business expansion, a six month old, a five year old, financing procurements, holidays approaching, birthdays... my head is a whirlwind. I just haven't had time to even focus on my weight or diet. I think thats just a testement to the band, im sure that in the past I'd have put weight on right now instead of losing another pound. I know that if I had more time to just be focused on my weight I could probabaly be losing faster but I guess I just have other things higher on my priority list at the moment. I feel like im so lucky right now, it kind of makes me scared because in the back of my mind I always think you can't have everthing for long. Its like im waiting for something to come along and knock the wind out of my sails. Maybe thats a bad way to think, but I guess I only think about it when im journaling so whateva.

hey Dez, were you ever 250 lbs previously in life? Sometimes the body has a hard time losing past an old weight esp. if you weighed that amount for any length of time. The best way to get off the plateau is to avoid carbs for a few days imho. Eat protien only and maybe a couple veggies for about 3-4 days. The other thing that can get you losing is some serious cardio exercise if you're able to do it. Like the huffing/puffing kind for at least 30 mins./day. HOpe you can get off your plateau!! Good Luck!!

Hey friends, Ok so remember how I freaked out about headaches? And right away I start thinking its a brain tumor.. well the person in my life who has one is my husband, he's 32. We found out in January, its been quite a struggle in our lives. He was initially diagnosed with one kind of tumor, but now that diagnosis has been changed to a differant type of tumor. Luckily they haven't diagnosed it as cancer thank goodness. Anyways his hormones have been really messed up for a long time. He started hormone replacement therapy about a week ago, previously he was on a medication that stopped his hormones. Anyways, I just have to say its going really well, he's feeling more and more like his old self. ... Well actually he's feeling more and more like his young self.. i'd say like he's in his early 20's again lol. I don't have to worry about getting my exercise in LOL. omg he's friskyyyy. This has been a long time coming and I am enjoying it! lol I just had to share with you all, as Id never tell the ppl in my everyday life.

Well, My husbands hormone replacement therapy is working well! He is extremely energetic, its crazyyyy. Yesterday he was up and gone by 6am and worked all day on our business expansion. He arrived home at about 6pm, he had picked up some delite pizza so I didn't have to make supper . Then he popped it in the oven, we all ate together. He ran a bath for our oldest daughter while I took care of our baby. Then whilst she was in the bath, he cleaned the entire kitchen, picked up the house... I was getting dizzy just watching him lol. Then he made a pot of tea, and we all sat in the living room and visited until 8:30 both kids were put into bed. Then we sat on the couch for about a half hour and spooned, the next thing I knew he was carting me into the bedroom for a very long and fantastic romp. LOL its like he's 20 again omg. :clap2:

Um I would say I could have typed your post exactly pretty much. Im 29, I weighed 227 lbs. Perfect health etc. etc. I too am 5'2". I just got to the point where I decided I wasn't going to diet again only to gain every ounce back plus. I was self pay as well. I think it was worth the money. Im feeling better and better about myself daily when I get to shop through the clothes in my closet that haven't fit for some time. I am sooo looking forward to the coming months and being smaller. Im planning a vacation, and not dreading wearing shorts or something that shows more skin. I know by then I'll be feeling Xcellentae! In two years I'll be wearing a size 8 and shopping at any store I want to. Thats my goal. And now with the band it will happen.

Hey there, welcome to LBT. I hope you get insurance approval. I went the self-pay route and don't regret it! I read your post and journal entries and I can totally relate to what you typed. I have internal meltdowns too when I know ppl are looking at me. -
I really like www.fitday.com you can track your calories, look up how many calories are in a lot of differant foods, and keep track of your exercise and weight loss. There are graphs and charts too. Sometimes a picture of your progress is nice.

Hey Stephanie, I so know what you are talking about. When I get to about 170, I can buy any kind of jeans anywhere. But when Im over that.. forget about it. I can only wear jeans I order online from Old Navy and GAP. I find that the ones with just a hint of strech in them help because then they suck in on my smaller areas.. the derriere, and legs... and stretch a bit around my belly. It seems like clothing stores only cater to hourglass figures. I mean there are plus-size stores but they do that same thing.. IMHO. Someone should start a store/clothing line that caters to differant body shapes and sizes!! Anyways keep your chin up girl. I don't know what your magic number will be when your body fits into the clothes off any rack, but it'll come.

Larry, Mike might have been trying to be supportive by not asking you if wanted anything. Judging by how confused you are about what you can and can't eat, im sure Mike is equally or even more confused or unknowing in this regard. Jachut had it right, everyone's amount they can eat is differant. Just start out very slow! Drink a sip at a time and space out your sips.. like take one drink.. wait 20 seconds.. take another drink etc. I don't know where you got the band but your surgeon should have made sure you were more prepared than you are. Im sorry you didn't get more education! I feel bad for you. But now you should spend some serious time reading through the threads on this website, it can really help you. Consider this site your 'book'. Good luck to you. Make sur eyou are drinking premixed protien shakes at first. You want to get at least 65 grams of protein per day. Welcome to LBT! -
No Prob jq! lol You men lose weight too fast its not fair, but us ladies retain more brain cells lol JKKKK!! ha.

They have you drink a liquid that shows up on an x-ray while you drink it. That way they can see if enough liquid is able to pass through your band so that you are not over tight. Its kind of like watching an xray movie.. hm that sounds kinky lol. Also when they put the needle in your port they can see where exactly the port is at..less poking around. A much safer fill.
