So glad to hear you are mending and feeling better too. I really feel this is why I had the surgery to FEEL better and I do too. God knows right where we need to be and he will keep us there too. Have a good day.

Sorry Janet! Sometimes I think something didn't post and it did when you refresh. This message posted twice. I tried to delete? Thanks again, Stephanie (jsc)

What a special dear lady you are! Thank you for the prayers. May God bless you for ministering to me when I needed it! You have a wedding coming up, grandbabies and more grandbabies on the way! Sounds like you are very blessed! Thank you for sharing your time and giving to so many of us on this forum. I have no doubt you do the same for your family and friends! Hope and pray all goes well during this exciting time in your life! I’m up 5-7#’s. I feel better than I have in a few months. Everyone tells me I had a gray cast to my skin. I think the band was too tight for a while? The reflux, lack of nutrition and dehydration finally caught up with me. I would drink water and it would just set in my throat? Now I’m drinking water like crazy. I have eaten things I should not.. I have flunked! I will get back on track. I think the doctor was right....my body and mind needed a break. Love and prayers to you

:thumbup:Hey Girl! Don't be discouraged, it is just LIFE happening. You will get through this and God will help you, he is there always. He knows the things that will happen to us before we do. I never did get acid reflux after the surgery, but I sure did before. I have heard others that have had a lot of it afterwards. A friend of mine had pneumonia and was vomitting a lot and that will cause the band to slip or move and may cause surgery so you don't want that! You will overcome this and be strong and get that added weight back off again, I just know it. I will keep you in my daily prayers and want to see you well and in good spirits soon.
Something I want to share with you.
Lord, I trust you. I have said, "You are my God", My life is in your hands. Psalm 31:14-15 NCV
Lord I place my seconds, minutes, hours and days in your hands. God I thank you for restoring my hope for the future and Lord build up my friend today and give her strength for tomorrow and the future. AMEN

I am so happy to know that you are doing so much better since the fluid was removed from your band. You have done such an amazing job with your weight lost, and I do understand your concerns about gaining the weight back. Hopefully, your good food choices and food behaviors will help to maintain your weight during this transition. I had acid reflux for over 7years, and I don't know how in the world I learned to deal with it so long. I was banded on July 21, 2010 and my hernia was repaired at that same time. I felt like my life was given back to me once the hernia was repaired. Now when I hear of others going through the same things I did for years, my heart goes out to them. JSC, you are a very strong person and you will accomplish your final weight lost goal. It may take you a little longer to do it, but God will give you the strength and willpower to achieve your goals. I am praying for you!

sandif,
Thanks for the picture comment. I'm sorry I just saw it today. So have you had your surgery yet? Best of luck to you! It's a scary and exciting time. Let me tell you I have had a few complications and I would do it all over again. I am 15 to 20 pounds from my goal. It's been life changing. Please let me know how you are doing!

This is encouraging in some ways because I know the reflux is due to band being too tight. Hopefully this is not a permanent problem. I have total sympathy for people whom have lived with this condition their whole life. I’m so happy to hear you are better. How long ago did you have lapband? I had mine done a year ago in July. I was at 4.6cc fill at my fullest. My doctor is telling he will most likely only fill back half way. He says he is happy with my weight loss. He says 165 is at the top range of a normal BMI. I really want to get to 145 pounds. At this rate it may take long than I had hoped. Either way I am so thankful for the band.
Thank you,
JSC

Shonette,
What a sweet lady you are! God Bless you and thank you for the words of encouragement. I had never experienced reflux until my last two fills. I even had the doctor take back about .2cc’s time before last. This helped for a little while but then it started up again. I would have nights I would wake up choking and it would even come up through my nose at times. I quit eating past 6pm and even cut back on all greasy spicy foods. This didn’t seem to help? My doctor then prescribed nexium. This didn’t seem to help either? Now that all the fluid it out of my band the reflux it totally gone.
