I found out my surgeon accidentally hit the inpatient button instead of outpatient. They corrected the error once the insurance notified them 2 days ago. I just wish they had notified me to let me know a denial letter would be coming in the mail ! Oh well... I was just upset last night but tried my best not to worry about it and just pray about it and go to bed

I also had a severe hiatal hernia that my doc had to repair before he did my lapband procedure. I am a week postop and still feeling pain, especially in my rib cage area at night. I am not the least bit hungry either and feel swollen as well. I am only eating 1/2 cup of soup at lunch and maybe a bottle water in the morning and evening. Other than that I am totally stuffed. Everyone says its probably because my stomach is swollen and healing. It will get better day by day. I had surgery on Thursday and stayed overnight in the hospital and went back to work on Tuesday. Although when I do come home I am very tired and in bed by 730. I let my husband take care of the kids in the evening... Good luck to you it will get better

I am still sore but everyday I am getting stronger and feeling better. I especially feel better now that I know the hospital and my surgeons office corrected the error in my paperwork. Thanks for your prayers. I will be remembering to pray for you  Good luck to you!

Thank you all for your prayers. I did my best to not worry as I slept and give it to God. I talked with the drs office and they said the surgeon accidently hit the wrong button as inpatient instead of outpatient. I was the first outpatient they had done over the last 5 yrs. The insurance specialist said she got the letter 2 days ago and immediately sent it to her billing specialist who cleared it up. I also confirmed with the hospital that they had it as outpatient and had a reference number and already submitted that to the insurance company. Thanks again for your prayers. I really appreciate them. Blessings to you all!

Thank you Trana and Hummingbird. It is so easy to get upset but you are right - there is nothing I can do about it tonight, but Give it to God and pray about it. Blessings to you! I am going to try to go to bed since I am still sore from the surgery...

I sure will Phosman! Your definitely in my prayers!!!!!! I need your prayers too! I got a letter from insurance saying they were denying my inpatient status. I wasnt inpatient, and was told as long as I left the room before 24 hrs everything would be fine. I felt like I lost a couple of years of my life tonight when I got that letter. I know its just money and I can pay it back at a slow rate if I have to. I am just so upset that something like this could happen even though the drs office and hospital said I was outpatient all the way! Please pray for me. I am a worry wart and trying to put it in Gods hands because he can do anything, I can do nothing but worry and that is not good. Thank you!

Greg - what mushies were your favorite...Tomorrow I can start mine? Our Drs are with the same practice, but I like to know what others ate and liked. How long did you feel restriction from the swelling. I just had a 1/4 cup of soup and am super full. I hope I continue to feel restriction... I got the AP lapband did you have the realize? -

Thats cute. Congrats on being banded. I was banded last Thursday morning but had to stay a day in a half at the hospital. I wasnt bouncing back like the others that had the surgery. Some people were walking around the halls like they were at skateboards or on scooters! lol... I maybe walked 5 circles around the unit the whole time i was there. I did have a more severe operation since the doc said I had a severe hiatal hernia. He told my husband he didnt know how i endured the pain and acid from it. But 6 months ago I lost 10% of my weight and I no longer had acid or had to take zantac. My three dogs have not left my side during all of this. They are so cute 2 labs and a chihuahua... You are right they have given me comfort and warmth. I have dodged my 4 yr old from kicking me several times. I am able to lay on one of my sides and I put plenty of pillows under me and one on top of my tummy. So you may be able to do that as well. Good luck to you! -
Hey there...Yes I went to Richmond Surgical Group - they are now Dominion Surgical. Dr Brengman is wonderful! I am doing really well ! Thanks everyone for their prayers! I am still sore but gonna go back to work tomorrow for 1/2 day...Keep me posted

What happens if you cheat during liquid period?
Tory09 replied to chelle2380's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there. Yes I am allowed creamy lowfat soups too and cottage cheese lowfat and pudding, etc in addition to broth and my wonderful shakes. I am barely getting in 1 shake a day and have lost 17 pounds in the last 1.5 weeks. I am tired of the shakes and surgary tastes ... I like salty tastes. So i just grinded down a small egg and boiled it and it was soft and mashed it down to smaller than the cottage cheese consistency. I ate it over a good amount of time. I figured it really couldnt hurt too bad since the consistency was more like a paste. I felt i needed the energy... I know I am bad but oh well. I am dropping 2-3 lbs a day so I think i needed it... -
Banded and Home!!!

I am doing ok~! I think I am ready for mushies. ALthough we are allowed to have creamy lowfat soups, cottage cheese ( i have never eaten that before) etc. I am tired of the shakes and sugary taste to them. I like more salty foods. I did grind up a small soft boiled egg almost like a deviled egg and i ate it fine. I shouldnt do this for 3 more days but wanted something different. I am losing about 2 lbs a day and i am only drinking about 1 shake a day so i felt like i needed something. i know i know bad me !!! How are you doing? -
Jordangirl - I got the AP Lapband and received the smaller band. They have 2 sizes. The reason I chose the AP lapband was that I knew it would have a bit more restriction to start off with than the realize, since the realize was more pliable and lose compared to the ap lapband. The dr said my liver maybe a little fatty but we will see the results soon and not to worry because the liver can heal itself. With weightloss it will become nonfatty. I had my gallbladder out 7 yrs ago and they did a biopsy then too and it was fine. Good luck to you all!

Lap Band Surgery Day Stories
Tory09 replied to pennyt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi guys ! I had my surgery on Thursday 10/22. I went in at 0700 and my surgery was scheduled for 0900. I did the same thing - got the gown, botties, shot in hip, and had to do a pee test. They wheeled me back to OR at 0830, ahead of schedule. My dr did have to repair a severe hiatal hernia before the lb procedure and he did take a liver biopsy. He said my liver looked a tiny bit fatty so he just wanted to check it - but said it will rejuvenate and get better with weight loss. My surgery was at 0830 and they let me stay the night and I didnt leave the hospital till afternoon on Friday. I am doing pretty good. Stopped taking the pain meds on saturday. I am going to try to go back to work for a half day tomorrow. Today is the first day I feel pretty good. I am losing over 2 lbs a day so thats cool. I am sure that will taper off. I actually am feeling restriction like when i eat 3 oz of yogurt or sf jello. I got the smaller LAP-BAND® so I am sure I wasnt supposed to feel restriction yet but I am. Yea... How are you guys doing on your progress?:wink2: -
Hi Everyone! I was banded on 10/22 and although I am a little sore I am doing well. I was able to spend the night in the hospital and went home the next afternoon. My doc did have to repair a severe hiatal hernia too. I am going to go back to work tomorrow for a half day. Take care everyone :cryin::wink2:

Tory09 replied to cindylou00's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My son just got the flu... They didnt test him for H1N1 because they said it was the same prognosis for both. Take tamiflu and rest. Now I am wondering if they should have given me some Tamiflu too as a preventative. My surgery is Thursday. I am not sick at all. Just scared I am going to get sick and will have to postpone my surgery.... Ughh.... I am so scared. Pray for me please~! -
sleep centers are a scam
Tory09 replied to brent0517's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only had signs of sleep apnea when laying on my back for the test. I never EVER sleep on my back at my home, only on my stomach. I told the dr the stats are wrong since his stats only show when you sleep on your back. My husband nor family has ever experienced me holding my breath, etc. The dr said I have something called shalllow breathing. I really think this is a scam as well. Just my 2cents  -

Did your Doc require a pre-op diet?
Tory09 replied to whosthatgirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My drs office told us we only could drink Slimfast High Protein, carnation instant breakfast no sugar added, or some boost. Those were the only three. For after the surgery, I did buy that unjury unflavored to add protein to everything... -
Did your Doc require a pre-op diet?
Tory09 replied to whosthatgirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just found out I am getting surgery next Thursday so I only have 7 or 8 days for the liquid diet. Basically it is 2 shakes a day and then a lean dinner like lean cuisine...or lean meats and 2 pieces of bread, ALthough I am not going to eat bread as I dont like it  Since I only have a week until my surgery I am going to just drink 3 slimfasts a day. But the carb on them is 24 which seems a lot to me. In the past when I did the lowcarb diet, you couldnt eat more than 20 carbs a day. So this is really low carb, its just high protein....
