Infection is gone but still leaking!
kwright replied to adelarosa33's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Angie. I'm glad to hear that your infection has cleared up and that you're feeling better!!! I'll be glad to get around to the mushies, soft foods, or anything with Protein soon like you. But, for now, only Clear liquids and that doesn't help with the lack of energy that I have. Keep us posted with your progress and recovery. -
Miss J good luck to you today!!! Congratulations.

What are normal symptoms after surgery
kwright replied to Cindy1955's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel the same way. I think that there is a lot of gas in my intestines cause I can feel and hear the gurgling when I lay down. I've been doing a lot of walking and it is helping. My only question is, how much liquid should be be drinking at one sitting. I try to sip, sip, sip, but when it comes to my Soup I have several teaspoonfulls and then stop since I'm afraid to stretch the pouch. -
Congratulations!!!! I'm glad to hear that everything went well. I've also been burping up a storm, I hope the gas goes away soon so I can get comfortable when laying down. Keep us posted on your recovery.

MissK, I'm glad to hear that everything went well. Keep walking to get rid of the gas, I must have walked all night since I couldn't sleep . Congratulations on being banded and keep us updated.

Hi everybody!!! I'm home and feeling ok. The surgery went well and I've had minimal pain. So far, I haven't had any pain killers since coming out of the OR. I think that I'll try to find a comfortable spot and take a nap.
-
Thanks everyone!!! I'm a little sore today, and the gas pains aren't too bad. I wish that I could only get comfortable when laying down. I found that if I take the lortab, I can sleep for a few hours. I've been getting my walking in (boy have I been walking). So, far I've been trying to get in my Water and propel but it's been really hard, I get full so fast. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

MissK: Best of luck to you!!! I hope everything goes well tomorrow!!!

Well, I'm definitely hungry right now!! I'm trying to cook the family dinner and the crystal lite just isn't cutting it.

Congratulations on getting banded!!!! I'm glad to hear that everything went well and you're off on the road to recovery. -
I am so ready for this!!! I haven't started to freak out yet, but I'm sure I will by Sunday.

I'm not sure about what went wrong, but that's all that I did to get my ticker to show. When you say that you copied the link, it was the bbCode link right? Good luck with the ticker and I'm glad that you're feeling better.

I just want to say "Welcome"!!! Please don't feel like you don't fit in, cause you do. We're all essentially here for the same things. I also keep a food journal, although I don't share it with anyone but myself, I do keep it honest, cause why should I lie to myself. When I was on Optifast, I had to keep a journal of my feelings and discuss them every week at my support group which is hard for me since I'm a very private person. Talking about food triggers, emotions and family life is a hard thing to do, but in the same token it's also helpful. I also have a teenage son and he's a handful. So yes, do what you need to do for yourself. Why not!!! So, if you ever have any questions, do post them. There are a lot of people here with vast experience on the band and I look to them for answers, tips, warnings, and support. I don't think that without the information from them (good and bad) that I would have been able to go through this process without doubts that I'm making a bad decision. My surgery is on Monday and I can't wait to start my new life. If you feel the need to chat, please send me a message.

I am so sorry to hear about your infection. I hope the antibiotics kick in and clear everything up soon.

BrooklynGirl I hope I'm as lucky as you are. I have to go back to work a week after my surgery. I'm praying that everything goes smooth since taking more than a week is not an option that I can choose since we're so short staffed and the week that I am to return is the start of the Fall Semester.

Congratulations abbypoo!!!! I hope everything went well!!!

What meds did your doctor give you after surgery?
kwright replied to LL67's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just got my prescriptions filled this evening, I have Lortab for pain and for some reason I have to take Pepcid the night before and for 30 days after the surgery. So I'm all set for Monday!!! -
Breaking the Diet Coke cycle...
kwright replied to ccweeks's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too am a Diet Coke addict. What I did to wean myself was to cut down gradually from 6-8 DCs a day to 3-4 and then from 1-2. When I started my pre-op diet, I just stopped having them at all, and you know what, there was no withdrawal headache or anything. In fact, I don't even desire one. You'll be able to kick the habit, it's just one day at a time. Who would have thought that I can drink at least 100 oz of Water each day. I amazed myself. -

Pre-Op Diet...How Much Did You Lose?
kwright posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on a 1000 calorie pre-op diet which consists of 3 shakes and a 400 calorie meal. It's currently day six for me and I have yet to consume 1000 calories. The thing that is bugging me is that I've only lost about 3 pounds (it fluctuates from day to day, so between 2 and 3). Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I have surgery in a week and I don't want to have a fatty liver to mess things up. My shakes are the Muscle Milk light (160 cal) and my 400 calorie meal consists of lean meat (usually turkey or chicken) and vegetables. I do drink more than 64 oz of Water every day so I'm not sure where the problem is. -
Jenny!!! Best of luck to you today. Congratulations :wink2:
