  1. Thanks -- good to hear from you too!! I started using a iPhone app again - called loseit and I am hoping that it jumpstarts me again. I really don't think I have hit the "sweet spot" yet - but my dr is working hard at getting me there:) I haven't given up - just getting worried that I am back sliding!!! I think by getting back on here - it will help me stay focused:) Take care

  2. I am 3 weeks post op and I have lost about 24lbs.... I don't feel like I have any restriction but I am not hungry at all... So I don't eat very much at all - under 1000 calories a day. I am trying real hard follow my guidelines (pureed and soft foods)...I am now ready for easy to chew foods -- nothing really tough. Just don't overdue - get lots of protein!!

    Food Boredom

I was banded on 10/9 and am still on full liquids but I just discovered Progresso chicken cheese Enchilada soup....OMG I love it. It is easy to digest for the full liquid stage but I can imagine it becoming a side for the mushy stage with refried Beans and cheese - or adding it to mashed potatoes would be yummy too - how about using it as a base for building a thicker stew. I love it - it is low carb and high protein!!

    I was Banded on Oct. 8th 2009

My pain has come and gone but hasn't been too bad - truthfully. I am scheduled to go back to school (teacher-librarian) on Tuesday. I think I'll be okay. Walk - walk - walk! When I get to hurting - I get up and walk around the house.
  5. I had surgery on 10/9/2009. I am at day 2.5 post-op and feel pretty good. Two days of Clear liquids and now this evening, I had some cream of chicken Soup (thinned with chicken broth) and it was a little sip of heaven!!! I have not been hungry at all - I worry that I am not getting enough Protein and liquids -- surely my ability to drink will increase as I begin to feel better. Everything goes down easily - I am just having trouble remembering to drink.... So far, I am thrilled to have this chance at a new beginning!!! My surgery was uneventful and everyone at the hospital (St. Francis Topeka KS) was wonderful. Very mild discomfort. Biggest problem right now - sinus drainage causing coughing.... Let me know how everyone else is doing! Share any good high protein soup ideas -- I have 2 weeks of full liquids to work through:)
  6. Hey All, Had my surgery yesterday! All went well. I didn't have a great deal of pain - liquid tylenol took care of my discomfort. I am on clear liquids for the first 2 days and then on full liquids for 2 weeks. I don't feel hungry at all and I haven't eaten (any real food) for about 2 days now. I am concerned about getting enough protein - so tomorrow plan to start the Carnation Instant Breakfast shakes two ounces every 2 hours. I was on a limited diet for about 10 days prior to surgery and lost about 10 lbs -- I am thinking I will probably lose more during this first phase. I just helped my son make a small homemade pizza for him and his cousin and it didn't drive me crazy to smell it....

I have talked with my insurance and they said it is a covered procedure (awesome)!
