    3 1/2 weeks post op

Hi, im 2 weeks out and just begun the mushie stage. I will be eating what I can eat now until my first fill which will be around the 4 week mark. Im on 5 meals a day, 3 meals with 2 Snacks which is my Protein shakes. For the 3 remaining meals my nutritionist has me eating 2 oz of protein (whatever food choice you pick to provide the protein like eggs or tuna etc.] then 1/4 cup of the fruit veggies starches etc. Eat the protein first then the remaining food. For example: this morning I had 1 egg scrambled lightly ( it was recommended to not scramble or cook an egg overhard .. BUT i cannot eat an egg otherwise so I scrambled it lightly .. left it easy to chew down well ) and a 1/4 cup side of pureed pears. If you think about it .. this doesn't seem to be the best combo lol but it was tasty and Im full!! just eat slow and remember to leave that minute between each bite..you will be fine!!
  4. Thank you all for your advice. I've let go of the sipping and have been sticking to a more normal swallow but still keeping it away from a gulp. Im getting in a lot more liquids now .. still not quite the 64 oz but enough to keep hydrated. I guess you could say Im more comfortable now and I've gotten used to my band and these new feelings I feel during and after eating or drinking. I also have an appetite now .. nothing great but im able to say that I eat each day. Things are getting better!!
  5. Thank you!! .. I never thought about it that way I guess because Im so scared that I will stretch my little pouch. I guess I shouldn't forget that liquids do go down differently than the food. With that in mind I will definately get down more liquids and prevent dehydration. BACK to the hospital is the last place I want to be!!
  6. Okay, so I was just banded this past Tuesday 9/8/09. Im doing pretty good as far as the pain and healing goes .. still a little sore but Im feeling better as each day passes. But Im having a hard time eating due to the fact that I have little to no appetite. Im also finding it hard to sip constantly throughout the day to get all of the liquids I need. Im suppose to take in 64 oz each day and I can barely finish a 20 oz bottle of Water. Has anyone else had or is having this problem?? Im worried that Im already out on a bad start because Im not eating or drinking enough. Is this normal? .. Im able to get down my Multivitamin and Calcium but as far as the right amount of food Protein and liquid ... no good
  7. Hi Everyone!! I'm new to this site but am very excited to get to know others who are banded or have yet had surgery. I'm 20 and my surgery date is 9/8/09. I've completed all of my pre-op tests, now I'm just playing the waiting game. I'm nervous but extremely excited lol. Not much to say for right now besides the fact that I'm anxiously waiting and can't wait to post updates on my success
