I am one of your biggest fans and have a huge amount of respect for you. I also read of your plight with mother etc..and know you have the tenactiy to do what it takes ands yes that band with the woman who does 1000 cal, is pretty disciplined and you can do that, no problem. hi neenagh, hety i didn't even know you hadn't had surgery yet, that is great and you are already smaler than me...( beiotch) My eldest grant , well I amnot going to work on him as he has a level head and with marriages now adays i want him to chose well , and this sounds horrible but yes i would love grandchildren one day, but I se that normally moms get their kids and i would not want to see him go through that, so I will bide my time til he is ready.He's agreat catch and women love him, but he takes his time and just started his carreer out of university so I can wait..do I have a choice?

As for wheezy, welcomeand I am now one week post op and I was also not in good shape and coming here on my first day cuz of al the probs I encountered so to let you know it does get better..but as someone said to me, its like learning how your body works all over again. I think i went through nausea, diarrhea from constipation,itense pain from incision and shoulder pain and the ags still inside was out of this world,,,,and to top it off I got my period, sooooI just finsihed my clear fluids tonight and can't wait for CHOC pudding tomorrow as well as good fluid too! ( fat free pudding) .

not sure if pplqueen is talking to me? but I am a land d nurse for many years now . As for nenagh, holy crow, lots of infected toilet seats where your kids are sitting huh? lol lots of babies. How wonderful , nothing better. My boys are now men, lol, 25, 23 and 19.

hey tom thanks for getting back, yes family can keep one going, and it sounds like you have a suportive wife and afmily which is wonderful. Idon't know what you have gone through BUT you are on your way to better health with losing weight, you are in a solid marriage and those songs can help heal . All the best kim

you and I are basically the same age and I am not near being a grandma....my three sons not even close.I would love a grandaughter!! yours by the way, is beautiful!!!!

I was joking tired old guy about your nick and no harm was intended. I know about the ups and downs of life and too many downs, but i am determined to try and change that around. Just 20 lbs of ( which is may be a dimple in my cheek) but I can already feel a new attitude starting to happen.

Hi there tired old guy, hell, what a nick, you should take viagara and take care of that prob and that should give you a little spring ( BOING) to your step. Thanks for the advice, but honestly I have not been told squat about nutrition, or a nutrionist. I know I have the swedish band and that's it. I go for my first appointment post surgery in sept. In all honesty it is HERE that I learn from and then can ask questions....so I trust this forum and the folks who live it. Puddykat......Also yes I am a little better now post op...lol I got every bodily functionknown to man happening even the dreaded "P"...lol but I am up and about/waking my dogs and carrying on. Today is last clear fluid day, the onto full for two weeks.....can i have like a mushroom soup?? that is creamed? or carrot? thanks for your concern Kim

HEY MANDI If I knew you were at Ikea I would have met you and bought you lunch. Ikea is virtually across from where I work at that hospital you saw at Leslie St just North of the 401. I am still new at this stuff, but I thought that after a fill, one is supposed to just stay on fluids for 24 hrs.Also when you spoke about stopping eating, not cuz of feeling full but from fear of something getting stuck, can that happen ? won't i feel full much earlier or can something get stuck?

Julie, truly and inspirational story and really amzing weight loss story, I hope to say the same as I have been banded not quite a week yet. Shackdog you mentioned, follow the plan, I am sorry to sound brain dead but what is the plan, right now I am on clear fluids etc, do not know how much or what i can and can't eat and only learn it seems from here so I would be happy to know what you have learned . thanks Kim

OFPS thankyou for acknowledging me, that means alot and the funny hting is, you were banded on my late fathers birthday which is kinda interesting. Also like the woman who worte after me I have had disc problems both three discs in my cervical spine ( neck) and lumbar and man nothing like that pain, where you can't even wipe yourself aftre you go to the bathroom. I hope , I mean I pray,hope whatever it takes to hope i get through this successfully, cuz I hate to sound morbid, but I have nothing else and I feel that I will die otherwise. I was not able to do it before and for awoman who many would say is strong etc, I just couldn't do this, and I do not understand. So I hope to become fast friends with you all, evn though you don't know me, but I have read ALLL of the posts here and think endearingly of all of you, my lapband family and since no one in my family has weight isssues nor can understand, you guys are my stability. Thankyou!

wow, I just read all 33 or so pages of this thread, whew, but well worth it. I was banded this past thursday and i have been sick since, not fun, but your e mails have all made this worth it and what inspirations you are, teresita, wheetsin et al, i feel like i know you all personally and have read you goals and victories. I am scared and wondered if my love of food would set me upo for failure. I mean i even blew the pre op diet. I was fine for 12 days and then BOOM I ate the last three days before surgery up until I wasn't allowed anything after midnight and my last meal was nachos. i was so hell bent on having food i liked I ate and ate and even did the bulimec thign and made myself vomit so I could eat more....so i am worried that i will fail. I am tired, sore, nauseated and even drinking small amounts make me nauseated. so this has not been fun. So for now thankyou, I also habve an entire human being tolose and started at 320 and then now 305, so getting under 300 will be the first victory and then if I made it to under 200 I will need depends as for what iwill do in my pants if that ever happens. So to all of you, best wishes, thankyou for being my inspiration and I hope one day to do you all proud.

rat girl,( man I hope i find out your real name, kinda feel weird calling some one rat girl.) Okay still on the mend. Look do not take me as guinea pig, there are many here and all are different BUT what I got out of this is that people are happy they did it and would not change it. We all heal differently and you are younger than me so that should help. I was at TBLC and i think many are happy there as I also hear many happy with dr coburn who sounds sweet too. I have to say being a medical professional, we make the worst patients, and dr yau ended up coming and holding my hand as I was being put under. First thing I did when I was leaving was find him, hug him, and say thanks. This is a huge change for me in many ways and I think not only am i going through some physical stuff, I think it is emotional for me as well for whatever reason, I mean, do we all know why we eat and why we choose what we eat? I am also VERY new here and I find, Yoda, laila, mandi( argon) cloe and some others who have been my wind beneath my wings so to speak, THEY are the real inspiration here and I am just a baby. They have collectively experienced it all and i think they are best to answer questions as I still have many for them. I thnak you for keeping your eyes out for me and I am sure you will be great. yup, that's me. I am a nurse and have delivered babies for 12 years and also worked in cardiovascular O.R, so I know what your uterus , ovaries, all structures near them and I know what you heart looks like inside and out, BUT i know nothing about gastric stuff and a smart nurse admits when she doesn't know it all and that is an area I know F' all, so honestly I know little about the differences. But then again, i didn't understand the liver shrinkage thing either nor did other medical types docs and rns I spoke with, and I ended up eating like a pig three days prior to my surgery and I still was a lap band without the open surgery, so i dunno, but if anyone does I am all ears! thanks all.

I have the swedish band too,is that what TBLC uses? Now I find I am speaking in an accent and have the odd inclination to go shopping at IKEA!
