My surgery is this Monday, July 13th with Dr. Tashjian in Beverly Hills. I am so scared! My sister was banded yesterday and I was there to see everything. At least now I know exactly what to expect. She says the only thing that hurts are the incisions. The Co2 bloating does not hurt (what I was afraid of). She says she feels a slight pinch when she has to get up to go to the bathroom and some soreness. I think the effects of the anesthesia and sore throat from the breathing tube is more bothersome than the actual surgery. Her procedure lasted 40minutes and Dr. T says mine will last about 50. My sister is significantly less overweight than I am, so I hope my recovery goes as smooth as hers seems to be going. Dr. T also says that if he goes in with the scope on Monday and he sees that my liver is still too fatty to do the surgery, he'll postpone it. I think that makes me more nervous than anything else. My starting weight is 336lbs. Can I mention that I am so sick of chicken broth? Good luck everyone!!
