hi gillian, do you mind me asking what your bmi was and if you had or not any comorbidities? and what health trust area you are from and used for your op. im lothian trust but sent to grampian and been waiting since 2005, just been to lothian yesterday and im told ill always be at bottom of list because my bmi is 40 (lost 3 stone on reductil whilst waiting for op, but put on 2.5 of it again) and have asthma, knees that collapes and mum and dad have diabetes t2, but not me yet! so say i have no comorbidites. im crushed, promised from grampian after getting smp involed that i will be seen by surgeon in the first half of next financial year then done during the financil year, so between april 2010-11. i wish i just paid for it back in 2005 but doctor didnt want me going to belguium, im 37 and really wanted to be slim again for my 40th. im happy with the rest of my body, its just my stomach hangs past my you know what. just want to cut it off. my poor husband.

Hi Restlessmonkey, I had my operation on the 9th June 09,I had a drink of diet coke today mind it was only a mouthfull and i was fine. not that i ever drink much of it but i was wondering it it would be a problem for my pouch. Gillian

Does anyone know the reason why you cant drink fizzy pop, i had a mouthfull of pop today and i was fine. Does it cause a problem with the band? Gillian:bored:

how does a good restriction feel?

:blush:How do you know if you have a good restiction after your fill? I had a fill a couple of weeks ago and my thoat felt like it had something stuck in it all the time i went to the hospital for a e-ray to see if the band was okay, I told them about my throat and they said they think my band had kink in it. they emptied my band then filled it back up with 5 mill I still have something in the back of my throat and also a horrible tast in my mouth, do you think this will go away in few days. I was not told by my surgen that i had to have fluids yesterday and and i have been exersising today could this also have caursed the problem in my throat again?> any help would be good. Gillian -

HI All, I just wanted to tell you all I have been to see my surgen today for a x-ray, we found out that my band had a small kink in it, this is hopefully how i was having that horrible feeling in my throat. I have to give it until Monday and if the feeling hasnt gone by then i have to go back to my hospital for a de-fill. -

I dont no if this is the same thing or not, I had my first fill last wed and i would say from the Thursday it feels that i have something in the back of my throught like a fish bone or something. I dont because i havent had any thing like that to eat but its that type of feeling,I am really please I am going to see my surgen on Thursday its a horrible feeling Gillian :crying: -
