Hello Jrrtubbs Why not start with an un-fill and see how you cope with that before the drastic removal of the band? If you can survive that with no gain and eat what yoiu want you have the best of both worlds. Once its out you will have a helluva time getting a doctor to put one back with your history. I wouldn't trade my lap-band in for the world. Lost 105 pounds. Have about 30 to go and it keeps me in line. Best of luck to you. Ciao - The Ladysman

Ted12345 - Wow , you woke up on the wrong side of the bed today..the pessimist side. Are you a Lap-Bander? I can't tell by your last thread. Please hurry and get unbanded if you are and if you're not, keep your negative thoughts to yourself. So far the Band has taken me off several medications and prevented me from starting diabetis meds. I also eliminated heart meds and from having to continue taking blood thinners. My Cholesterol is in the perfect/normal range and I have a new outlook on life because of the band. Take a chill pill and relax. Remember that this forum is for people experiencing problems or just want to learn more about being banded. There will be a higher percentage of problem threads due to the way human nature is. Chances are there are many successful band stories that are out enjoying their lives. I have one regret about being banded..that is I wish I could have been banded sooner and not wasted a good portion of my life being a sick, fat bastard. I have been fat 95% of my life and and now half my life or more is over. I am so glad I have been banded. I have given my family a break from worrying about my health. Banded and glad I am. Down from 352 to 254 (98 pounds) since June 06.

This is for the Guys out there. I was watching a program on TV and they had famous Dr. Oz (Oprah's favorite doctor) and he made the statement that for every 30 pounds a man loses he gains an inch on his manhood. I can verify that statement and proove it correct. Having lost over 90 plus pounds myself (so far with about 30 to go) I can't keep "Mr. Rodney" from waking me up all ours of the night. I can practically polevault with this thing now. :faint: From a guy's point of view, If that's not incentive to keep losing then I don't know what is! Have fun! The Lady's Man. -

Molly - That is sound advice. I like that " if you are happy to sit down and eat protein & produce, not just carbs or junk food -- then you probably aren't filled enough." statement. Getting banded Aug 16th and hope to remember that. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Hi Everyone. My sugery is scheduled for Aug 16th and I am looking forward to a new chapter in my life. I am an easy loser but also an even easier gainer so the band should have quick results for me. I am in it for the long hall..the rest of my life. I have an Awesome doctor (Dr Kwon) in Port Jervis,NY. I read up on him on the web and he's one of the leaders in Lap-Band surgery. By for now, LadysMan

changed your mind during the liquid stage?
LadysMan replied to booda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Dear Booda - I too had the same feeling as you. What I did was "test" myself. I made a decision that I was going to do it on my own and I promised myself that if I couldn't do it on my own this last time that I would pursue the Lab-Band which to me is the best option out there. As you might have guessed, I failed my own test and am now scheduled to be banded August 16th. If you "truly" feel you can do it on your own then DO IT!!! That would be awesome and great and a total money saver and no surgery and follow-ups to go through. But promise yoursel that if you fail you'll do the right thisng for your health's sake and for your own well being period. That's what I did to come to this juncture. Best of luck to you. I'm sure that it will all work out for you in the end. LadysMAn -
