    Disappearing lapbanders

Exactly!! I have the same sentiments. I just had a tube and port replacement that was torn during a previous surgery and due to my insurance at that time it wasn’t caught and was gaining all my weight back since I had no restriction. Finally back on my journey!! My current Bariatric surgeon actually recommended repair instead of removal and revision. His view was if it was successful when you had it working, give it another shot before something more drastic.

    Port and Tube replacement

Hi just had this done due to my tube being pulled apart during a previous surgery. Yes it’s general anesthesia and takes 1.5-2 hrs. Same day surgery. Best of luck to you.

    Starting to get Frustrated

Hi there, contrary to what you feel you are doing great !! Just think about it prior to surgery would you have been down 30 something pounds ?? It's really easy to get caught up on the numbers, I did it and it drove me crazy that the scale didnt move an inch in 2 weeks besides my consistent excercise and calorie counting, but you also need to learn how to read your NSV ( non-scale victories) thsoe sometimes can mean so much more than just the numbers. Do your jeans feel better ? do you knees or ankles hurt as much ?? Does your body look just generally better ala naturale in the mirror ?? these are all things that you should take into consideration as part of the whole weight loss package. the numbers can be very deciving, even a glass of water can throw it off or not enough water can also throw them off !! So learn to listen to your body and identify all your other wonderful success along the way !!!
  10. Hi Kimberly, I was banded in august and had some pain in my chest as well that lasted a good 10 days or so. At first it is gas that just needs to work it's way out of your system...the gasx doesnt work unortunately just walking and time. It can also be referred pain which is just sensitivity of your nerves near the diaphram and surgical area. the pain in the chest can also be taken as a soft stop when it comes to eating. It is usually a sign that you're getting full and should stop eating in the next bite or two or other things such as PBing might happen. It will not be made worse by a fill.
  11. Just wanted to throw the curious cat out there and see if anyone else has had an increase in their friskiness and bedroom physics !! LOL. Given what my energy level was prior and the state of my body it wasnt "horrible" before but very bland and not exciting. Lately I have noticed that there is ALOT more friskiness, frequency, longeivity and fun to the bedroom physics !! Cant wait to see what happens with the next 20 lbs !! LMAO

    Plastic surgery...Mexico?

I was told by a friend that it the excess skin is causing dermatological problems like frequent and persistent rashes then the plastic surgery would be covered by insurance, you may wnat to look into that option. Another option is the dominican repubic. My ever so vain SIL goes everyother year to get something done ( lipo, tummy tuck, breast reduction, vagi-reconstruction). If you're an american tourist and willing to sepnd about 5 grand you can get top notch surgeon there.

    Exercise?

Hi There- I started the gym 2 weeks after surgery with the eliptical doing 35 mins 4x week during lunch at the gym at work.Since then I've upgraded to doing the cardio classes which are 45 mins 3x week, elliptical for 35 mins 1x week and boot camp circuit training 1x week 45 mins. I'm really focusing on the cardio right now even though my surgeon said that weight were okay after 6 weeks post op. Becareful with the kickboxing class, some of the movements are considered ab core work and should not be done till 6 wks out according to my surgeon. But it is a tremendous energy high ! Even though it hurts sometimes I just feel so damn good afterwards !!!

Second Fill and can't have McD's!

Adela- I'm so glad to hear that McD's is down the toilet ! It will do you sooo much good to get rid of that kind of stuff. I'm on my 2nd fill (5cc in) and while I dont really have restriction I have noticed that their are certain foods that I just dont crave anymore. If I could give you some honest advice, it's best if you find some other means to reward yourself that are not food base. The one thing that my therapist keeps me focusing on is that my relationship with food should only be to feed my body when it is hungry not as a sign of comfort, reward or pitty soother. My system is whenever I acheive a new mini-goal I will buy myself something that I set when I acheive the past goal. For just hitting 40 lbs loss I went on overstock and got me a great new winter coat. You want your rewards to be something that you can show off and get compliments on and then say it's because I've lost XX pounds anf flaunt it and feel fabulosa !!!
