  3. Hi, Does the Calcium supplement have to be chewable? I know my dietician said no more then 500 mg at a time, and wants me to take 1200-1500 a day. I have found small calcium pills in 500 mg and as small as a tylenol so I am sure I can swallow them. I just am so tired and hate taste of the chews. Also does anyone else take a bunch of meds and if so how long does it take. I have one med that was a horse pill and I used to take two, so instead I now take 6 small ones so that I can swallow them. I also until I loose enough wait take one diabetic pill, one cholestrol and one blood pressure. Yes you can imagine how long it is taking me to take these. Any ideas

    side sleeper?

Hi, I am actually only 8 days out (banded on 7/27) and I have been side sleeping for two days now. I have never been able to sleep on my back and I hated it and ended up in a recliner the first few days. I also love to sleep on my stomach and was not sure if I would ever get back to that. What I found that actually helped though is to put a pillow under your stomach when sleeping on your side to sort of raise your stomach a bit and give it support if that makes sense. Kind of like those body pillows you can get. I do get nauseas if I sleep on my left side if I drank anything right before bed. Good Luck I hope you can find a comfortable position and get some sleep.
  5. Hi, I was banded on 7/27 so in the same boat, and I am new to this site and posting. I can tell you what has helped me a lot.... taking chewable gas ex, heating pads and walking when I could. Also ask your dr for a prescription for something called zofran. It is a desolvable tablet under your tongue for nausea, but has no side effects of fatigue and such. I use it for another disability with nausea daily and it works wonders. Yes it is easy to be depressed at this stage when you can see nothing but the pain. I knew what was coming after having three c-sections under general with the gas. Also try to sit in a rocking chair and rock away, it gets the gas moving (as if you were walking) and the quicker you can burp it out the quicker the pain will go away. Hang in there.. our wonderful journey has just begun, but yes pain can overtake anything even something we really want. Just know there is light at the end of the tunnel out there. Dawn

    How did surgery go?
  8. I am scheduled for lapband with Dr. Cobean at Maine Med on July 27th and my husband is scheduled for Sept 2nd. We started the process last Nov so we have been very luck with the time it has taken from now until surgery date. I will start my pre-op diet on July 13th.
