    What should I do????

Thanks for the replies. Things have gotten a bit better. I can now eat about 3 ounces of food and I am satisfied for at least 4 hours. I think this may be my sweet spot. I have lost 5 pounds in 1 week. Is that too much?

    What should I do???

I recently received my 2nd fill and now have about 5.5 cc's in my 10 cc band. The problem is I can only eat 3-5 bites of food before I begin feeling completely uncomfortable with continual burping. It feels as though I have to vomit along with a tight burning sensation. I believe it's telling me that I have eaten too much but it was only 3 bites. Is this what the "sweet spot" feels like or should I have some of the Fluid removed? Until this point I have experienced very little restriction so I am excited about the opportunity to now start losing but my mind is telling me... you need to eat more. Does this make sense?

    What should I do????

Thanks for the info! I just received the fill last Friday so just 5 days ago. So with that being said hopefully this uncomfortable feeling will go away in a week or so. I will wait it out and see what happens. If it does not get better I may need to remove a 1/2 of cc or so. Thank you!!!
  5. Hey Lady...

It has been so long! How have you been? I am still maintaining a slow and steady pace. So far I have lost 23 lbs. I don't have much restriction but I go in tomorrow for my second fill. I can't wait and I hope to start seeing more weight loss. Since I have been back to work and school it has been difficult to exercise but I am doing at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes. Please fill me in on how things are going with you. We really need to meet up one day...since we are so close to one another.

  6. Hello....

I'm doing good. My weight loss is very slow but steady. So far I have lost 23 lbs. I go in for my second fill tomorrow so hopefully I will have more restriction and see more weight loss. I'm glad things are better with you and CONGRATS on the 33 lbs lost! Do you exercise everyday?

  7. So, how did the fill go? After reading several posts I came to the understanding that weight loss before having your fill is a bonus. I haven't lost any additional weight as well and actually I continue to go up and down 1 or 2 pounds. But after my fill today I look forward to restriction and I anticipate seeing changes going forward. Don't push yourself! I am 33 and have been thick since high school so I don't expect all of those years of thickness (LOL) to go away over night. It will happen. My problem is transforming my mind during meals and remembering that I don't need to clean the plate. That has been difficult but my plan to that is to ask for a take out box and put half in the box immediately. There is definitely a lot of work (mentally and physically) but we can do it.

  8. How are you doing? Are you adjusting better? I go in today for my 1st fill and I am looking forward to it. I will let you know how it goes.

  9. Congratulations on your journey! You look great. I was just banded on 7/16/09 and your pictures encourage me to look forward to the possibilities. Although my band was inserted with 3 cc's I am still fighting the hunger. I am sticking with the mushy diet plan because I didn't come this far to not to do the work required but I am looking forward to my 1st fill.

  10. Hey, how are you doing? I must say my appetite has picked up but I force myself to stick with the schedule provided by the surgeon. I can't wait for my 1st fill!

  11. Hey, how are you doing? I'm trying to stay consistent with the exercising and so far so good. My weight is not dropping like it once was but I do understand this is a slow process. My goal is 2 pounds per week. I started mushies last Thursday and I am sooo happy to have more than liquids. Due to my work schedule I will have my 1st fill on August 14th. I am looking forward to it because I want more to eat now. However, I am restraining myself and try to stay under 900 calories per day. Whoever believes this process is the easy way out is terribly mistaken. On a brighter side I do feel the changes in my body. That was a long update....how have you been doing?

  12. The workouts are going much better. Your dedication to working out is encouraging me!!! I have committed myself to 30 minutes everyday. Girl, I was running on the treadmill this morning for the 1st time in a long time @ 3.5 with 2 incline. I was tired as ever but I must admit it did feel like an accomplishment. Keep sharing your routines as it encourages me....

    Anyone banded on 7/16...

I am soooo glad everyone is doing so well. If you don't have a support system or just need to talk to someone who is going through the same life change I am here. I went for my post op follow up and my Dr. was so proud of me. I'm down 16lbs and my one incision has healed very well. He instructed me to stay away from stomache excercises for now but walking on the treadmill (which I had already begun) is the best excercise. My goal is to do 30 min a day on the treadmill. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
  14. Oh I'm glad that gas was better yesterday. Also did you try the gas x strips?

  15. The curry chicken salad sounds great especially to someone on liquids :-( I have a treadmill at home as well so I try to do 30 minutes at least 3 times a week but I need to increase my workout. It would be nice if we all could meet. I'm not to sure about the pole dancing class but I'm definitely open. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

  16. Yes every surgeon does in fact have there own guidelines to follow. I'm on liquids for 2 weeks then mushies for an additional 2 weeks. At that point is when I can introduce solids slowly. Woo... I start mushies on Thursday so I am excited.

  17. You are on mushies? My Dr. still has me on liquids until Thursday!:-(

I am ready to eat something other than soup. I need to excercise more. Currently I excercise 3 days a week but I need to increase that. Indian Head Hwy is very close to me but now you are across the bridge? Yes there are other DMV bandsters on here maybe we can all do something an excercise class or maybe happy hour????

  18. How are you? How are you doing with the workouts? I really need to do better with that :-(

  19. After day 5 my gas pains went away. I feel much better now. I can even sleep on my stomach :-) I hear walking helps so I walked, I even walked in place. Whatever I could do to rid myself of the gais I tred it. I hope it gets better for you.

  20. I hope you are doing better!

  21. My surgery went great. I experienced really bad gas pains but that has subsided. Now I am ready to move onto mushies. I see you live in Alezandria...I'm across the bridge MD.

  22. I see we were banded on the same day!!! Congrats! How have you been doing?

  23. Hello, I am sooo glad things are going great for you. Keep being strong and you will make your goal. I know it's hard but try not to eat. I'm almost 2 weeks post op and I'm starving. Also, don't allow individuals to steal your joy. Ignore the negatives and stick with the positives.

  24. Hi...I see we were banded on the same day! How is it going for you?

  25. I'm starving as well! I am sooo tired of soups. I'm in a book club and I missed the meeting today just to avoid the food. I have been walking in the treadmill daily. I have also implemented an excercise schedule in order to stay on target once I return back to work. When are you scheduled for your 1st fill? Remember not to overdue it...
