Two of the many questions asked by endocrinologist when checking for thyroid problems are "are you cold when others are not and are you tired". I have been on thyroid for 35 years now and I always have to answer the same questions. You might want to a ask your doc.

The coroner’s report revealed the mysterious death of a seemingly healthy 38-year-old woman. Dr. L. Parks died of streptococcal sepsis, or blood poisoning, due to a “massive” intra-abdominal infection, said Bob Dempsey, coroner for San Miguel County in Colorado. “The infection was due to complications of gastric banding,” he said. “She had the surgery three weeks before she died, during he first week of November.” Found this and I thought I would post it to this older thread.

Wow 6 months! Oh well, its probably because of growing up on that stuff that I am in this boat today LOL Looking forward to 6 months from now.

Hi read your post (I, for one, keeping coming to this site to see if anyone else is as freaked-out as me!) let me tell you right now I Sure Am! What exactly is freaking you out? For me it is life after band. You will find great support here so keep reading the post. It does make me feel better to know that others are feeling the same. My band date is the 16th of Nov.

Lucky you! Oh well maybe it will help with my cravings since I already went through the headache period and the dam I'd like a platter of nachos stage. I should be good to go. I am guessing but are you hispanic? I am, and I can not eat anything unless I use chiles or Tabasco or whatever other hot sauces I can find. Don't know if I can continue that after band.

I kinda thought I would go out with a bang eating all my favs right up to surgery. then the pre- op diet was given to me. wa, wa, wa. If only I had pay attention I would have done it before. LOL Still emotional but better.

Hi I live in Willis, TX. I was just wondering how life has been after lap band. I have been looking for people who also live in or around my area. I get banded on 11/16/09 and am getting nervous.

Hola, Nervous is not the word I would use. Not sure why but I have gotten really really worried about getting this done. Won't back out though just really nervous. What are some of the things you are nervous about with me it's life after the surgery .

Wow! So sorry to hear you are having so much trouble like it isn't stressful enough just waiting to have the surgery and being on the pre-op diet! :thumbup: But now take a deep breath and think positive. I had similar issues, not with me but doc and insurance getting there act together. I will all be praying that it all goes well and the 10th will still be your big day. Happy thoughts and wishes. A twist to the salmon patties is don't use the bread crumbs at all and I like to add finely chopped onions and jalapenos. I like every thing hot!!!

I think the date is the 10th. Things got a little confused at the hospital some how. They had the 10th as my surgery date instead of the 16th. Will be calling doc tomorrow to clear it up.

I do not think caffeine is the culprit, I only drink one cup but not every day. I was thinking maybe lack of carbs? -

Ok, I've started by pre-op diet yesterday had a headache most of the eve. Protein shake was better than I thought it was going to be. Day two has been interrupted. Found out they moved my colonoscopy(sp) to tomorrow so only clear liquids today. That ought to bring on the headache. I'm getting very very anxious about post banding life. I am trying to ignore it but had first cry last night. Anyone else getting or got that nervous? banding date the 19th. -

I just bought the Montel Williams food emulsifier any one else? You can cream and make vegetable soups that come out hot right from the blender. I thought this would be good to use post op for full liquid and mushy stages. And later to get more vegetables in. Should we not make fruit smoothies I keep hearing no homemade smoothies.
