Belle, As I lost weight I could feel it more with my fingers. It does not show. I am kind of squimish so I don't explore too much. It will be fine. edie:)

    No back fat

I sure appreciate all the posts to my thread. My sister bandsters are feelin me. I forgot my legs don't rub anymore and I don't have to pull the legs of my shorts down anymore. Lets go over this again. 1. My back is not rolling. 2. My legs are not rubbing. How long will it take for my 40D boobs to start rising? Your band sister, edie with the 40 longs.

    2 Post-Op Q's Need Some Help?!?!

Rocko , I can't help you with the ear prob. I wish I could. I think or I hope you have the water amount wrong . Check again with your doctor. One of my online friends who was banded Jan 30 07 was suppose to drink 2 oz ever hour for example. My doctor in Louisville Ky didn't give me any directions on water. Mine was just a general guideline of 64 oz a day and include any soup etc in that daily total. The burping yes I have had. I THINK I drank to fast when it happened. I wish I could have more or better answers for you. Hopefully someone in the medical profession will post . Good luck your band sister,:phanvan edie

Tatty Head, new but excited !

Hey Tatty our stats are almost the same. I am thrilled with my band . Good luck on the finance part. I was spending at LEAST $140 a month on junk food. That is how I justified my self pay surgery. edie

    Pre op tests

I was nervous too. I thought I can , I can , I can endure it. You won't be the first to gag (if you do) so just put on your big girl panties..... It is so worth it. edie

    Overjoyed!!!!

This site helped me so much too. I love that you are so excited. Follow your doctors orders, get you liquid in each day and try to get your exercise each day too. I had 6 plateaus in my 8 months and that made it hard but I knew the science behind it and knew I looked and felt better then when I started plateau or not. I started feeling really good at about 200 lbs. I could not believe how much easier it was just to do daily activities. I could dust the whole house without resting!! Before I would have to take a break. good luck edie

    Just Realized

For this first time in my adult life (age 48) I bought a cheap lawn chair. It will HOLD ME. I will be flying in Sept and I also look foward to a comfortable flight. I considered first class before to help but the prices were way out of my league. I'm feelin ya girl. edie

    I want to introduce myself.....

To be blunt , the most obvious is are you ready to NOT eat four pieces of chicken at once??? If you are not , the band is not for you. This is how I put it to people who ask me about it. What I am saying is , if you are not ready to give up eating large amounts of food the band is not a good choice. Now at 8 months I can eat a little of pretty much anything but not a large amount of anything . I am amazed at how long food hangs around. Before it would be gone in one evening. How many times has my hubby asked where is that strawberry ice cream ? I would say I ate it. I thought buying his favorite flavor would help me. Ha. Then I started buying for him and me. I would eat mine and..... well you get the picture. I know this isn't a nice post but very very honest. I am so grateful for my band. Now I REALLY REALLY eat to live not live to eat . edie

    New to site

The time you are on the liquid stage is the HARDEST thing that you will go thru. It is HARD. Notice I am saying Hard?? It is so worth it. It makes you really appreciate food. Those first scrambled eggs I ate.... I still remember the feeling. I had soreness for two days only after surgery. I tell folks it was like I had done too many sit-ups. I have NEVER done too many in my LIFE but it was how I imagined I would feel. lol Side affects. Hmmmm. I can't really think of anything. I guess this is a good thing. good luck, edie:)
  17. Welcome future sister bandster. I hope your journey goes at well as mine has. edie

    6 months till?

Just to try to be on a up beat note, could you try to get into a exercise routine? I started swimming laps about 7 weeks before surgery. I would go slowly for about 20 minutes. I was a self pay. If insurance does not pay ..... For myself I would spend at least (I'm shamed) $7 on my "stash" each day. So I knew I could afford it. I would treat myself to lunch at least twice a week for what $10 each time? Do the math . good luck edie

    Summer BBQ's

Baked beans, 1/2 burger, potato chip (tee hee). Just like normal. This is what is so great about the band. Just take it slow..... edie

How much weight loss to expect???

Exercise (walking and swimming) helped my band. I know some people just do not have in time in their busy days. I started with about 30 minutes and have built up to 1 to 2 hours of exercise a day. I do not sweat just move. edie
  21. Becca, Yes you can feel the port thru your skin. The smaller I became the more I could touch the port . The port does NOT show . Yes you can go on vacation and have fun. More so because with the weight loss I was cooler and had more energy. Yes you can still go out to dinner. You just share with hubby. Cheap date as my hubby calls me. Example I will eat one or 2 meaty ribs and a small amount of potato. 3 shrimp and small amount of veggie. 1 and 1/2 crabmeat ragoon and tablespoon of combination fried rice. If bread is offered I will cut a crusty slice off and butter and enjoy. I was very careful and followed my doctors orders on food. I was on a liquid diet 10 days before surgery and 2 weeks after. This is the absolute worse and lowest you will feel . It seems forever. But when I started eating sometimes I would eat too fast or too much I would get "that pain" in my chest. The best description is heartburn. Bad pain. Sometimes it would go further. My mouth would start watering so bad I would have to hold my mouth over a trash can. Enough on this. NOW I know when to quit . I can feel when I have had enough . I am sure some it is visual. Hope I am been very specific about answering your questions. edie,
