  1. Yes I notice people being friendlier in general. I kind of resent it. I feel like they wouldn't give me the time of day before. I remember trying to just make small talk at the doctors office for example and getting ignored. They would look me straight in the eye and it would be why would I want to talk to a fat cow like you? I am a very freindly person and as I put on weight I got that cold stare more and more. It really hurt my feeling. Well lets just face it the world likes normal weight people. edie

    Damn

Yes Thunder, I really read at the grocery store too. Sometimes I am reading and I go yikes and put it down really quickly. I'm sure that looks funny to someone casually looking my way. I really enjoy the flavored rice, popcorn cakes. They really fill me up quick. They come in bbq (yum),chocolate, carmel, sugar and cinnamon, and graham cracker (good with a little bit of peanut butter). good luck edie

    ??? What about eating out?

I thought at first I would never enjoy eating out . I really do because it is food that I don't prepare for myself at home. This IS 9 mos after surgery. I feel like I eat like a thin person now. It does help when I go with a friend who will share. Sometimes they don't pick what I would have but really it is no big deal. Before that would have made me very unhappy. I have just changed my way of thinking. It used to be ALL ABOUT the food now it is the company. I never had people stare at my plate or comment. My husband and I would say to the waiter WE are going to have the .... and we will need an extra plate. We gave no explanations . Note we still tip if good service like we ordered two entrees (I'm a past waitress). At first I would carry a Special K protein meal bar in case the restaurant didn't have anything I thought I could eat. It never happened. I just recently when to 2 buffets. I enjoyed them so much because of the variety . Of course I didn't get my moneys worth but so what. You will be ok, edie

    no carbonatation?

I tried a diet mountain dew about two months ago after I let it sit out overnight!!! I cooled it down again then attempted. I would have to burp after EVERY little sip. It wasn't worth it. I guess everyone needs to try for theirselves. Take the risks if you want. Some bandsters say they have no problem. edie

  18. Yes, food just doesn't have that same magic. People who don't have food addictions know it is JUST FOOD. This is my latest stage. I am surprised about how long food stays in my house now. Before it was gone the same day I bought it. edie

    What have I done?

Barb, You have made a good commitment to yourself. In time you will be able to eat normal. Normal is not overeating. Normal for the old us is too much food. Try to focus on adding exercise to your lifestyle. My husband began very hostile about my exercising but finally just joined me. He is a very healthy 180 lbs 6'1" . I went thru a mourning for overeating . I sure many more bandsters have too. edie
